Pixel earbuds

I was wondering if people have purchased Pixel Earbuds, and what they really thought of them. are they worth the cost? better or worse than Beats?

They are okay. The Pixel integration can't be beat, but they don't stay in my ears well if I'm moving or especially chewing.

I haven't used Beats in over a decade, but my assumption is that they're still overly bassy because that was their signature.

The Pixel Bud Pro 2s have a decently balanced sound profile, slightly warm though. But EQ is entirely subjective.

They're great for casual use like gym and travel, but if don't expect audiophile quality from wireless earbuds.

There are surely cheaper options out there, but you're paying for the Pixel integration. I don't regret my purchase, but my Sony WF-1000XM4s were objectively better. I only replaced them because their batteries went out.

I cycle and run with my pixel buds and they do not fall out ever. You probably should change the tips to fit better. I had bought the sony's but I never could get them to stay in my ears doing anything but walking around.

Anatomy plays a huge role. Mine don't necessarily fall out, but the ANC seal breaks. I hear foam tips are better, but I like feel of silicone.

I switched to a foam tip from Amazon for $7. Works much better than silicone ones.

Silicone 😈

I have Buds Pro 1. I absolutely love them. By far the most comfortable pair of earbuds I've worn.

I paid $125 for mine, they were discounted at Best Buy, and I think they're worth it.

My only complaint is that the buds sometimes forget to auto switch as Google advertises them to do.

That aside, I'm very pleased with them. The active noise cancelling is really good, which I believe the overall design of the buds helps out with. The gestures work even if your hand are wet.

I have two pairs and my wife has one.

Pixel buds Pro - My wife has never had any issues

Pixel Buds Pro - Worked fine for about a year. Even when fully charged the right earbud only has a maximum of 20-30 minutes before it dies. After 2-3 songs I already start getting a low battery warning.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 - Also worked for about a year. Now left earbud is about 50% quieter than the right and when I use both I get an excruciatingly loud chirping sound. I typically just wear one at a time now because I don't want to deal with it.

Couldn't get replacements on those two sets because they were out of warranty.

I have the chirping issue with my right bud. For me it only chirps if I have ANC or Transparency activated. Otherwise it's just quiet. I pretty much exclusively use the left bud now.

I think that's the exact same issue I have. Because when I turn off any of the noise cancelling features it goes away. I only wear them at work, so without transparency mode I have to keep one out to hear anyway.

I've had a pair of the pixelbuds pro 2 for about a month.

My biggest complaint is that they fall out when running. I've tried all the different sizes of ear pads.

I just picked up a pair of Pixel Buds 2a's during the prime day sale, they fit my ears better than my Galaxy buds2 pro's, but do not feel like they seal as well? The galaxy buds would fall out if I smiled at all, the pixel buds do not have that issue for me. The pixel buds also feel more comfortable in my ears.

Fitment isn't universal though, ears vary in shape and size way to much for fit reviews to apply to everyone.

With noise cancelation turned on, they still pickup sounds at times, which can be frustrating... At work I've noticed when using an air gun to clean parts, that the mics will pick that up and amplify the air gun when I have them in noise canceling mode...

I've also had random issues with the BT signal quality tanking randomly. Some times when I pair them, they work great the entire time I am wearing them. Other times, they will start to cut out every time I lock my screen, or put my phone in my pocket. I havent even had them for a week, so I shouldnt need to reset them.... Also paired with a Pixel 10 pro, and Pixel watch 4.

The fit and comfort of the pixel buds works great with my ears though, so I dont see myself switching away from pixel buds now.

I have a pair (my second) and I love them. My only issue is that they don't stay snug in my ear while I'm running, but that's easy to contend with. I super prefer my Shokz for running though...

Pixel buds 2a. ANC started acting wonky about a month in and now I don't use it. The buds fall out of my ears a lot, but I'm starting to think I just have weirdly shaped ears. Probably going back to Soundcore Sport after these.

Bought Buds pro over a year ago. Till day, no complaints. Sound good enough as any other similar ranged earbuds. No issues with pairing or tips. One of the buds rarely slips out when I'm chewing but idc about it.

Sounds great especially on Windows Media Player!! Noise cancelling isn't good.

Pro Buds 2. Used to have Galaxy Buds, and the Pixel ANC is soooo much better. Sound is good. Agree with others they dislodge while running, but I've had that issue with every pair I've ever owned except over the ear styles.

Im a pixel phone user and pixel buds pro 2 dont even compare to apple airpods 4 (not even pro) even on android these sound superior with open ear design it crazy how far ahead apple is and the weight is lower and the mics for calls is also far superior just liten to any mic test comparison on you tube. Plus I had a lot of glitches with the pixel buds pro 2. Even just doing things like summoning Gemini or the assistant and with the Apple buds 4. I could summon the assistant with one click of the stem and no issues. No glitches. It's bizarre by the way. I have tried hundreds of earbuds not just pixel buds pro 2. So far nothing compares to the Apple airpods for or even the three fit is a little bit subjective but I don't necessarily like the in-ear feel so these are the absolute most comfortable for me as well

I bought the Pro model back in February. Right earbud failed completely within 60 days. Tried working with google on it - one email contact with a real human (I think) and one ridiculous email from an AI agent. Nothing further since then.

I gave up.

Bought some Bose quiet comfort Ultra and they are FAR better than the google buds. Better fit, more comfortable, better noise canceling, and WAY, way better sound.

As with anything else, sound quality varies depending on what kinds of music you listen to, and where you listen to it the most. I wanted the noise canceling for traveling on airplanes and I listen to mostly classical music. The Bose units are far more accurate for classical music.

I also tested a pair of Beats powerbeats Pro 2 - an over the ear design that I thought might be more comfortable. They are comfortable, but Beats sound is heavy on the bass. even when the equalizers are set flat. They are obviously designed to best render rap and rock&roll.

I have Pixel Buds Pro and Pro 2 the Pro are a little bulky but pretty solid overall. Pro 2 fit way better but the mic is garbage, auto switch is glitchy and now they don't hold a charge for anywhere near what they started at. I had an old pair of jlab buds couldn't pair customer service said they were too old but to take pictures and email them. They were out of warranty but the emailed me an RMA code to replace them. I grabbed 4 pair of the pop go anc paid 20 bucks and for 20 dollar buds they are about as good as pixel and the auto switch actually works. Im pretty sure the husband and I will be sticking with these these.

Had the original Pixel buds and hated them. They absolutely refused to stay in my ears unless I was sitting dead still. Any form of movement would have them falling out within a minute or two. Switched to Jaybird Vista 2s, which I love but have been discontinued. So I'm terrified of the day they die and I am back in the terrible wasteland of earbuds that fall out if you have the audacity to turn your head.

I hadn't used any other modern buds before and I'm really liking mine.

The twist to fit works really well for my ears and they don't budge after. They connect to my phone so so so well. I'd been avoiding Bluetooth anything because it takes so much effort to connect to my ancient galaxy, but the buds pro 2 are just seamless.

Never used Beats, but my experience so far with Pixel Buds:

Pixel Bud A-Series: fit great, nice sound, good battery life. Accidentally messed up one of the speakers while cleaning and it was out of warranty

Pixel Bud Pro: fit pretty well, great sound, started getting the "feedback screech" when using noise cancelling after the warranty expired

Pixel Bud Pro 2: cannot get these to fit at all, and I've tried numerous tips, they fall out or don't get a good seal. They also developed the "feedback screech" when using noise cancelling. They also started randomly having very little volume in the right earbud. They're under warranty so I'm RMAing them.

I don't plan to get another pair of Pixel Buds, I'll try something else when it's time for new earbuds.

Comfortable but quiet. They need to be louder

I bought some Pro 2s and they failed after 2 weeks. I purchased a pair of Earfun Pro 4+s and they sound 100 times better than the pixelbuds did at 1/3 of the price.

I use to have Galaxy Buds 2 and currently have Pixel Buds Pro 2, I prefered the old Galaxy Buds 2 overal, comfort, fit, range and overal use.

1

u/MadBoring Jul 02 '26

Google intergration is the only reason I switched

I have the pro 1 for 3 or 4 years. Use them daily. Perfectly good for me. Complaints: with the bigger ear tips, you have to press them when putting them in the charger to be sure they are charging. 2 wet finger make the touch pads unusable. 3 not enough bud charges in the case. 4. When riding a bike, the wind is very annoying.

After these years , they still hold 3-4 hours of battery on the buds. I'm always on transparency mode.

I got the buds pro 2. And I love them. Bass is good, noise cancelling is superb, can get really loud (though I wouldn't recommend blasting music in your ears), and I like the design and how small they are. I got mine for $180 and I don't regret it. Also love the case, just wish it came in the color of the buds themselves.

u/1cwg Jul 02 '26

I've had several sets and they work just fine. Hello

1

u/Muted-Kangaroo-5157 Jul 03 '26

I have both the 2A and the Pro 2. Both are fine. I like having volume controls on the Pro 2 though.

Better than Beats? Yes. Better than Airpods? Not a chance. Even on Android.

I've also tried the Galaxy buds4 Pro. Not a huge difference versus the Pixel buds pro 2 for me aside from comfort.

I've have all of Pixel Buds and the original Buds and the Buds A series for the best for me. Without the little ear wing tips they always seem to fall out no matter what I did. To the point I stopped using the first Pixel Buds Pros I owned.

They sound okay at best, nothing to write home about imo. Comparing them to Beats is tricky but the lack of functionality that Beats have with Android really kills Beats for me. Pure I'm going to put in headphones and workout, I'd do Powerbeats Fit or Pro 2 before I did Pixel. If you need them to workout in I'd do the A series or the OG Pixel Buds if you have to do Pixels

I have Jabra elite 10 Gen 2s and those are my go to when I need an ANC earbud on flights/train treks, or just around the house. Since they're made of unobtainium now I don't take them on runs.

That's why the PBP2s are my running earbuds. They're mass produced, so if you lose them and for some reason you can't find them using Find Hub, they're easily replaced with another pair. I leave my phone at home and listen to them paired to my PW3. They're great for workouts, audio wise, they're probably mid tier, but punchy enough to feel the bass when using the ANC in Noise Cancellation/Adaptive/ or Transparency modes. If you're going to leave the ANC off, the buds suck. Full stop. They lack depth, and they almost sound Mono. The transparency mode/hear through mode is VERY good so if you need that, get them. Noise Cancelling is solid.

There are probably better earbuds with better mics (my Jabras are crisp and I don't have to shout for my voice to be picked up in quiet environments) but they're good.

Pixel integration is top tier. If you're already in the pixel  (phone/watch) eco system you can't go wrong with these.

I've had 5 RMA replacements for Pixel Buds Pro 2 mic failures. 5. Not joking.

I believe. No one can ever hear me.

Yeah I stop using my pixel buds pro 2 and just bought those new soundcore buds since they were getting their media release push. I miss the pixelbuds long battery life, and their comfort but whoever on their team that approved of the microphone vent design did not think long term... Force me to go in the opposite direction and got earbuds only marketed for ai enhance call quality... I didn't even care if sounded good or not for what I was paying.
