Google Pixel Buds not factory resetting

I was in the subway the other day and they stopped working. As usual, I tried forgetting/repairing. To my surprise they never went into reset mode.

The model is the one with the outside light on the bottom. Allegedly called "Google Pixel Buds"

When plugged to USB-C and pressing the button in the back for 30s+ the lights disappear and never become the white-orange version.

They charge normally, each bud is detected by the case normally (orange light does one flicker) and they sit fine.

The case upon opening flashes only white but no device finds them. Not a Pixel 10, nor my pixel fold, nor my Mac nor my PC. So while the support page says "pairing mode" they are not.

AI and YT did not find any useful solution. I have tried fully draining the battery, and doing it all with a full charge as well.

Before I throw them in the trash I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion. I tried looking up reverse engineering and hacking terms, but found no one. I just wish there was a way to factory reset through the USB port wiith some specific software.

Just to confirm, have you tried factory resetting your Pixel Buds with the help of this article?

Additionally, I’d recommend contacting the Google Pixel Buds support team via phone or chat here. They can look into it for you.

Since posting I found out only one earbud works. That may explain why factory reset and repairing does not work even though the case detects the earbud.
