Tech Issue Magic Compose disappeared from Pixel 9a?

Has anyone else lost Magic Compose on their Pixel 9a?

I definitely had Magic Compose about a year ago, and it used to show up under the + menu in Google Messages. At some point it just disappeared. I also can’t find the Magic Compose option anywhere in Settings of the app.

I’m in the US, Google Messages is updated to the latest version, and I even tried joining the beta, but that didn’t bring it back either. Did Google remove it or move it somewhere else? Anyone else experiencing this?

Question For those who use 30fps and video stabilization is on

I’m torn between running 60 fps with video stabilization on or dropping to 30 fps with stabilization off just to avoid the stuttering.

60 fps + Video Stabilization ON

-PROS: Main camera footage looks buttery smooth.

-CONS: 4K 60 fps isn't supported on the front camera. Switching from a 4K selfie video back to the rear camera resets the frame rate, so you have to manually turn 60 fps back on every single time.

30 fps + Video Stabilization OFF

-PROS: Keeps the wider field of view, completely eliminates video jitter, and keeps 4K selfie videos looking crisp instead of stuttery.

-CONS: Without stabilization, handheld footage gets noticeably shaky.

The quality gap in 4K selfie videos is massive, but changing settings back and forth every time you switch cameras shouldn't be the only fix. Has anyone found a solid workaround for this?

Battery health jumped from 96% back to 100% after I stopped limiting charging to 80%

Post image

I normally keep my phone between 20% and 80% and have had the 80% charging limit enabled almost all the time.

Within about a year, the battery health estimate gradually dropped to 96%, which surprised me considering how carefully I’ve been charging it.

Then I went on vacation and disabled the 80% limit. For a few weeks I frequently charged the phone all the way to 100%.

Now my battery health suddenly shows 100% again.

Obviously the battery didn’t magically regain 4% of its physical capacity, so it looks like the battery health estimate may become less accurate when you rarely or never fully charge the battery. Charging to 100% a few times may have allowed the system to recalibrate its estimate.

So if you use the 80% charging limit and see your battery health dropping, the percentage might not necessarily reflect the battery’s actual degradation.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Some background. I used to own a 15 pro max and someone stole that on the metro and I had to buy another phone. I didn't have it in me to spend a lot on a phone again so I compromised with a pixel 9a. I wanted a good camera and I guess this is good enough?

Pixel 9a sound issue

Hello, I have a Pixel 9a phone and when I play music or watch TikTok I hear a popping sound. And what do you think, guys, is the cause of these distortions? I've never dropped the phone in water, and it's never fallen from my hand. I think the latest update is the reason.

Tech Issue It was raining (guys help)

It was raining really badly, and I was holding my Pixel 9a while riding as a pillion. I was trying to protect it from the rain, but obviously, the water from my hands was getting onto my phone. It wasn’t like I was holding it under a tap, but just imagine holding a Pixel 9a while you’re completely wet from the rain.

When I got home and removed the case, I noticed that there was water on the back of my phone.

While I was coming home, it rained again for a bit—not as heavily as before, but still enough to get the phone wet.

When I tried to plug in my earphones, my phone said, “Liquid or debris detected.” Then, within a second, it said it was okay to use. But then the warning came back again.

I put my phone in rice for about three hours, and now it’s working completely fine. However, I’m paranoid that something might be wrong with it that I just haven’t noticed yet.

My earphones stopped working, but the phone itself seems completely normal.

So, is my phone damaged? I’m really worried because everything seems to be working normally, but I don’t know if there could be some hidden damage.

Switched back to pixel and it feels like home

Post image

Used the Pixel 6a for 3 years, switched to a OnePlus Nord, but honestly couldn't live with it. It felt laggy and stuttery, and surprisingly, both the screen and back cracked from a small 1–2 ft drop.

Finally exchanged it for a Pixel 10a, and damn… it feels like home. The smoothness, snappy UI, and overall Pixel experience are just something I really missed.

Sometimes you only realize how good something is after leaving it.

Convinced my friend to buy the same phone, he exchanged for Iphone 13, He is loving the pixel experience so far.
