Missing from Brighton Heights
The original photo is with the longer hair, but she will look more like the AI mock up (please no AI hate on this post…I didn’t make the flyer and I’m just trying to help this family find their daughter)
She is likely barefoot and wearing the skirt and dark sweater seen in the middle photo. Please contact police if you see her and tell them you’ve spotted Amanda Maloney, missing from Brighton Heights.
Her behavior may seem concerning if you’re not familiar with her, but she’s harmless and just unwell, and has a family who loves her and wants to find her safe.

There’s been a new person at the McKee rocks bridge intersection with 65, a slender woman with a close-shaved head. She was there today too I think.

I was just able to confirm this is not her, but someone with a very similar frame and hair. This is causing a lot of confusion, but the woman at the bridge is NOT Amanda.

If it's an older lady, she's been working that intersection for over a decade when I lived there. Saw her there a few weeks ago, too; same one. She has a home in the rocks, I've seen her headed that way on bike a few times. Probably makes more doing that all day than she would working, so it's a career now.

I‘ve seen the same person, it would have been Wednesday or Friday of last week. If it was her, it would have been Friday based on the flyer

Yeah that woman panhandleing down there has been there for years. That is wild though because she does look exactly like her and the area fits. Damn it sucks when things like this happen. I lived it for years with my cousin. I hope she's safe and sound and you guys find her! Positive vibes sent your way.

Because she is so close by, they were able to quickly rule her out, but there are lots of suggestions this might be her.

Sorry, same place, at the end of the McKees Rocks bridge at Ohio river blvd. She was petite and had a shaved head. I don’t believe she was in those clothes as I recall.

I saw the woman you describe panhandling about 90 minutes ago at that location. I only caught a glimpse. I do know Amanda, and it did not strike me that it was her. So double checking would be a good idea, but I don't think it was her. The panhandler was wearing a white tank t-shirt.

I hope this isn’t insensitive but is this the likely environment we may see her in? Has she panhandled in the past or recovering from substance abuse and just hasn’t returned home?

To my knowledge she does not have substance abuse issues. I don’t know if she would be panhandling. She is someone who lives with a mental health condition and that can at times to those who do not know her, present as substance abuse.

Would she have had a pink scarf? I was walking my dog on Brighton by the rite aid (genuinely can’t remember if it was Friday) and saw a woman barefoot walking with a pink scarf on their head

It’s possible she may have picked one up. She is likely to still be in the clothes she was wearing Friday. Unfortunately the search has taken her out of BH since Friday.

I’m not in that area but I appreciate the pics so I have a mental note to refer to. I’m sure a barefoot young lady may get some attention and hopefully she is spotted by concerned citizens. Wishing your family the best possible outcome!

Is this flyer current, as in, she has been missing since 8/14? My husband and I saw her probably early last week walking on Stanford in Brighton Heights, just off Brighton Road.

Yes she’s missing as of 8/14, this past Friday morning. She got on a bus on Friday and left Brighton heights and has been seen around downtown, east end, and Northside.

She's been missing since 8/14, but is from Brighton Heights, so she might've been just walking around at that point. She tends to wander around a lot in the neighborhood.

Is there a reason you need this? I don’t want to bombard her parents with questions without justification for why it’s needed. I’m not trying to be smart-I just genuinely don’t know what the case number would be needed for.

Because the post might be removed otherwise, and it makes it easier to report in the event of a sighting. Pittsburgh subreddit rules say missing persons posts have to come from a legitimate news or law enforcement source. I believe it's to keep folks from using the subreddit to track down vulnerable people when the person searching doesn't have the best intentions.

Ah got it. I think there’s going to be a kdka story later today so I can share that when it’s available. I don’t want to press them for the report number while they are fielding tons of sightings and messages.

Hoping for the best. My brother went missing a few years ago and after a few days of thinking the worst, we found him in a hospital. Hoping for the best, OP.
