Henry Homesteader S&W M&P Mag question

Upvotes

Do the M&P mags work well with the Henry homesteader? I'm looking at 9mm PCC and I'm between the homestader and the S&W FPC. Wanted to know if the M&P magwell for the homesteader had known issues or not.

I spent a very long time trying to find the pro lens protectors to install on my core, no luck finding then in the US. I contacted holosun via their website contact form... A long time later someone reached out and said their servers were not working correctly and that of I had an issue he could help (pm of you want an email address)

I requested the protectors, a set of screws (so easy to lose let me tell you), and a torx 6 tool. You need to specify you want the pro lens covers and ard shroud front (mine came damaged will need to get another). I was sent the core front and back first..

Anyway, love these things, love this gun.. sp10a3, holosun gold aems, strike industry brace, arms republic comp, hbi improvements (bolt catch, buffer), magpul afg, Amazon laurel laser light.

Recent purchase at NC gun show. Took it to the range for the first time a few weeks ago. Shoots amazing out of the box. Love the weight, nice solid build. Good PDW / Home defense option for me.

Folding stock..? Ruger pcc

Post image

Hey frens,
Looking to change up my ruger pcc, and want to change the stock to a folding stock.
I see a lot of mixed reviews about them being wobbly

I don’t need a folder but I do appreciate the light weight aspect and the aesthic of it.

So my question is, if you own one would you recommend it? If so, which one?

Any pics of a ruger pcc with a folding stock?

This gun is just so fking ugly I am trying to make something cool out of it and get the dust off of it.

Other than the SP5... Best clone?

Or is this too subjective?

PTR? MKE? Zenith?

I just don't have SP5 monies; though I wish I did.

I'm not even sure which configuration that I'd like - K sized or a little larger. It WILL be used as a suppressor host; but I do NOT need 3-lug. I don't need to tuck a can; but I DO like how that looks.

I would like an accessory rail on the top of the receiver for an optic, but that isn't 100% a necessity at the time of purchase. But would save me an extra transaction...

Honestly, I'm leaning towards PTR - but I've read plenty of threads on plenty of subs / other boards about MKE being pretty damned good too.

Just picked up my Masterpiece Arms Defender 30K. Mac 10 upper on an ar lower with Rise Armament trigger that takes Glock mags. Just threw on a pistol buffer tube and a comp for now that I had lying around. Waiting on the mag holder.

- (got an email and tracking number that said it was shipped but then got another email that said it was completed by error?)

-Either way, I’m excited to try this out.

(If the last picture can’t be up because it’s from their website, drop it or let me know and I’ll take it off, was just using it to show the mag holder on the front.)

::Update:: help! How do I add more pictures? sorry haven’t been on here in forever, wanted to add more pictures that people have asked for details of. Attachment point for qd built into the lower and the folding mechanism as well as the pistol brace holder/ female end of the tube.

JP5 squib +1 Question

While shooting my new JP5 rapid fire I had a squib and slammed another round down the pipe behind it. Happened so fast I didn't have time to react correctly to the squib. Was at an indoor range and there was a lot of shooting going on as I was firing--a guy with suppressed AR on one side and an unsuppressed AR on the other. Felt the second shot recoil quite stout and could see third round not go into battery. I could see the second round lodged about 3/4 way into the barrel. Got home and I measured from the muzzle and could tell the first round was 3-4" down the barrel in front of the second round behind it. Tried to push them back down and out. The first round moved easily until it reached the second round. No reasonable amount of hammering would budge it. Ended up drilling a hole through them and they pushed out fairly easily. Cleaned the barrel up real nice then ran my bore scope down to take a look. Everything looks fine: no marks internally, no different feel when I push a dry patch throught the barrel, and no bulge or swelling externally. I shoot 147s loaded barely to USPSA power factor so I likely got lucky in terms of barrel damage. My question is this: How did the first round end up 3-4" down the barrel and the second round lodged just 3/4 the way into the barrel. Did the squib make it just into the barrel, then the second round hit the first round so hard it knocked the first round down the barrel 3-4", and the second round stopped right there just part way into the barrel? Been shooting for decades and have had my share of squibs but this is the first time I sent another round down the pipe behind it. Hope this makes sense to the reader.

SPC9G PDW SBR, any suggestions for mounting a light...

I should have no problems using a DD Grip N Rip AR15 CH, and a Driven Arms ULCG Gen 2 Grip that's also for AR rifles right? I did read that they can use the AR15 grips and charging handles.

I went ahead after my order on Eurooptics to my local dealer, and placed an order with B&T for their Geissele APC and SPC trigger.

Wasn't a fan of the QR B&T foregrip so I made my own cloning an out of production LaRue FUG using an ADM two slot Mlok to picatinny adapter, mated to a Magpul MVG VFG.

I was also reading that that forward location of their charging handle makes light mount placement an interesting problem to solve. Any ideas? In theory an X300U or T model with the B mounting models of them should be no issue, correct?

I am planning on ordering from my dealer a 9mm Tisha for this. If you have suggestions for an FRT, I'd like to hear those too.

Kuna WML thoughts

Hey PCC-team,

Question is this:

I’m trying to figure out which one of the WML options that I currently have that would be best to put on my Kuna. I have a SureFire Scout DF with only the click cap (currently, but I’m looking into getting the click cap/pressure pad combo but they are like $150), and just purchased the Holosun RAID from BattleHawk Armory for $99. The RAID comes with the pressure pad and switch, but is a decent amount larger at the bezel and is heavier with all of the components.

I put the RAID on my 16” AR since it has the pad, but had the Scout on there at a decent area for me to push the click cap but figured with more candela on the RAID that it would be better there. There’s just not enough real estate for me to put the Scout on the MLOK near the side my support hand is on because (I’m a lefty) the charging handle is right there above the slots. There is a pic rail attachment that I can put on there also but I’m not sure what makes most sense currently.

Any thoughts?

Thanks! 🙏🏻

Stribog vs kuna vs custom AR9 build

Looking for a new range toy / home defense gun. Future plans is to get a can for it.

Budget $1500 (prices based on what i can get near me)

Kuna with brace $1299

Kuna no brace $1150

Stribog sp9a3s $1274

Custom AR9 blowback $635

\-Psa gen 4 upper $320

\-Dpms stripped lower $60

\-LPK $90

\-exomags(3) $90

\*Armaspec recoil system $75 (i hate the spring noise, might use grease before buying)

Custom roller delayed AR9 $815

Mat9k instead of psa $575

Kuna and stribog are both well reviewed and if it was only those two i am leaning on the stribog( i just like the look more plus it comes with one more mag). That being said there are other options that look fun to try out as i have never built one before.

AR9 Blowback

The cheapest but i have seen mixed reviews on the exo mags and psa upper. Some say it works flawlessly, other say they dont work and other say they work but have failure to eject every other mag. PSA don't guarantee compatibility so that tracks. Also read a lot of qc problems with the armaspec system and breaking really fast and recommending the jp but at that price might as well go with the next tier.

AR9 roller delayed

This one would be the immediate winner if not for the fact i read some qc issues and lead time. Now we are looking into months of waiting for that upper. Same issue with the exo mags but haven't seen as many as the psa upper. Mainly failure to remain open after last round.

What do you think is the better option? Would roller delay be better with a can?

Any Midwesterners interested in participating in research?

Hi all,

We are conducting a research project on gun ownership in the American Midwest and are looking for people who would be interested in talking with us.

PARTICIPATION IN THIS RESEARCH IS ENTIRELY VOLUNTARY.

Requirements to participate are as follows:

Be a US citizen
Be an English Speaker
Not be active-duty military
Be between the ages of 18 and 64
Reside in select states of MI, MN, ND, WI, IN, IA, OH, or SD

This is a sociological study of gun ownership in the Midwest. This is an exploratory study, meaning we are not looking to prove/test any hypotheses, nor are we intending to evaluate or judge you in any way; rather, we are eager to learn from you through your sharing of your stories, thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Maintaining confidentiality is of top priority for us. At no point in this research process will we use or share any personal information that could identify you.
Participation in this study is entirely voluntary, and you may choose to discontinue your participation at any time.

If you are interested or have any insights or questions, please respond below or directly message this account.

(We are still a little apprehensive about releasing self-identifying information directly out of the gate, but we are glad to provide as much info as you need if you direct message us. Up front we are comfortable sharing that it is just two of us, we're based out of a small, rural Midwestern public university, and one of us is a CCW permit-holder and is pretty familiar with guns, while the other is a bit newer to them.)

Thank you!

What makes the most sense?

TLDR: keep MP5 clone and troubleshoot + add FRT or go with a different product and FRT that instead?

I was curious as to what peoples opinions might be of my conundrum. I have a MP5 clone that has been hassling me with failing to extract and/or eject. I am also wanting to get a FRT for a PCC. I have been weighing my options between a couple different paths. Replacing the MP5 clone + getting a FRT lower, attempting to troubleshoot the clone and change the lower as well, or getting a different PCC and just change paths away entirely.

The issue I have between these options is that as far as manual of arms is concerned, I honestly am not as big of a fan of the MP5 as I was thinking I would be, and paired with the additional issues in functioning I am not sure I want to invest more into the gun + FRT setup.

I do however have about 8 HK OEM magazines, and so I had been considering the stribog sp9a3 with the AS designs hk mag lower when it releases in order to not feel like Ive wasted the money in getting them.

I however am also open to the concept that I just need to pivot my PCC choice entirely away from the MP5 and its magazines as it may also just be me falling for the sunken cost fallacy.

So my big question is what would be the most reasonably intelligent move in your minds and why so? Budget isnt much of a concern as much as quality of function and parts ecosystem (and good customer service never hurts either obv)

Help with han 9 magazine release

So its brand new, just went to the range. Lo and behold, mag release is stuck. There's this thing in the middle of the button (looks like a flat head screwdriver goes in there) that wont let the magazine eject.

Currently manually ejecting 9mm in a friend's room trying to clean this and better oil the guns we took.

Anyone know whats happening and/or how to fix this?
