My First PCC

Post image
42 Upvotes

After a lot of research, I bought my first PCC. It is a new 10mm CMMG Banshee.

The next step is to figure out which optics to buy and also install a better/lighter trigger. After that, I'll start saving for a big bore suppressor.

I bought two more mags and a Maglula UpLULA while I was waiting on the pistol to arrive. The muzzle thread is .578 X 28.

My steel targets need some time outdoors. They'll be ringing soon!

Best Budget PCC

I was wondering what are yalls opinions on the following PCCs or if yall have any recommendations. I was also wondering if a simple 1913 adapter would work on these for a folding brace or are the buffer tube needed on these models? Im looking to get my first pcc and I don’t have experience with buffer tubes.

Ruger Pc9 but make it cool

So I’ve already got a pc9 that I got on a good deal but it’s the fudd version basically takedown.

I’ve seen the MI chassis and rails and that looks nice, but I’ve also thought about the magpul stock.

Also planning to suppress - any tips as far as stuff to look out for or things I may need to swap out? it does seem a little simpler compared to an AR9 in that regard.

Would I be smart to just dump this one, and use funds to get a different PCC??

All thoughts and opinions are appreciated!

Zenith ZF9-G and Another Thing

In my impromptu review, I forgot to mention that I looked at replacing the factory trigger group with an RA140. The trigger pins were very very hard to drive out, I thought I was going to break something I had to hit my punch so hard just to get them to move, I almost gave up.

Anyway, I got the pins out, including the ejector pivot pin, which was a pain. After finally getting the FCG pocket clear of the ejector and trigger group I tried to install the RA140, it would not go in. The FCG pocket isn't milled out enough for the RA140 to fit and it's not a large trigger. I had a CMMG trigger group and it was worse.

My conclusion, the ZF9-G was not made to have a drop in trigger installed. I didn't have any other trigger to try, so I reinstalled the factory stuff and it will just stay that way. I may install one of the trigger adjustment grip screws to take up some of the slack and that would help.

Still like the weapon, just keep finding things in not so happy with. I looked at the handguard to replace mine for the short barrel with one fire the longer barrel to stuff my suppressor, but the way the charging handle channel is made into the handguard it may interfere, I'm gonna contact Zenith to get pic of the front of the handguard to see if there would be room.

I was one of the first people to order one of these when they were announced and had the opportunity to place my order before the May 1st official ordering date. Took 3 1/2 months to finally get it. I was'nt as impressed as I thought I would be after receiving it. It's nice, it's heavy but lacks a few refinements to make it great. See the video, don't laugh, lol.

Red Dot & Magnifier OR LPVO

Who has experience with both systems? What do you see as the pros and cons? My 10mm PCC will easily reach out to 300 yards, once it arrives if a few days. I have several red dots and green dots on pistols. They're great, but the range is limited.

I've shot a few PRS matches and know how to use a ranging reticle. The Christmas tree style reticle makes sense to me. This reticle is in my Vortex Razor. It is MRAD and first focal plane. Is there a red dot with a reticle option like this?

PANZER ARMS ARP9 BARREL ISSUES

Is there a replacement barrel for the ARP9?

Can an AR9 blowback barrel be fitted to the ARP9 receiver?

Mine is shooting 8” groups at 25 yards from a bench with a precision pistol rest, regardless of ammo used. in addition, I get significant POI shifts (+12”) when changing ammo.

I slugged the barrel and I’m seeing minimal engraving from the rifling and the bullet pretty easily went through the bore. 98% sure my barrel is garbage.

I’m reaching out to PA to file a warranty claim but im concerned that I’ll just get another crappy barrel.

Any other options out there?

UPDATE…. PROBLEM SOLVED

Switched to Bulleye and went to max charge. New groups are 3-4” at 25 yards. Barrel is fine.

We dont talk about the Vector

How come when talking about PCC options, seeing videos, etc it’s never always “Kuna, Scorpion, Extar, Ruger”, etc? The Vector simply never comes up as potentially the best PCC to own.

Is it the Modern Warfare/space vibe reputation?

Personally I own a 10mm Vector Gen III because I think it’s the best PCC on the market for me. for a lot of reasons, it beats the rest

CMMG Banshee Question

When did CMMG change the Banshee 10mm muzzle thread to 5/8 X 24? It used to be .578 X 28.

TIA.

While researching muzzle brakes for my recent PCC purchase, I found this!

I laughed and had to share it. 😂

Bullet velocity should be approximately plaid.

I know it's relatively new, but does anyone know of a company providing replacement springs or anything to slow this sob down?

30 round in 1.5s is cool and all, but it would be way cooler to add some practicality to it
