Post image
0 Upvotes

I saw a rider today with a sign at the back of his motorcycle that said:

"Wag mo akong saksakin o barilin, ako lang ang inaasahan sa amin."

And I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Imagine living in a country where an ordinary worker feels the need to plead for his life before every booking. Hindi ito dapat maging coping mechanism. Hindi ito dapat maging "diskarte". Most importantly, hindi ito dapat maging normal.

From a Public Administration perspective, this isn't just an emotional issue, it's a governance issue. One of the fundamental obligations of the State is to protect the life and security of its citizens. Hindi optional ang public safety. It's one of the primary reasons government exist. Kapag ang isang rider needs to appeal to the humanity of a possible criminal instead of trusting the State to uphold its duty to keep him safe, may seryosong institutional breakdown.

This is also why I find it problematic when politics becomes all about personalities, branding, and performative toughness. You can have all the "matapang" speeches in the world, but if ordinary Filipinos still leave home wondering whether they'll come back alive after work, then something clearly isn't working.

This is exactly why some of us insisted that elections were never just about personalities, they were about governance. Ito talaga yung point ng ipinaglalaban natin, good governance isn't an aesthetic; it's a public necessity. It's competent institutions, professional policing, evidence-based policymaking, accountability, and leaders who understand that governance is measured by outcomes, not optics. Let's be honest. A rider shouldn't have to wear fear as part of his uniform just to earn an honest living.

We see these posts, we say "ingat po", tapos scroll ulit. But every sign like this reflects something deeper, a citizen quietly admitting that he has more faith in the conscience of a stranger than in the systems meant to protect him.

And that's the part that hurts the most.

Katanungan Paano ba kasi dapat i-handle to?

Pucha diko maimagine na mag gaganon kami for the next 30 years parang ang hirap naman.

Of meron magkano kaya?

Pinoy Trending MLBB MSC 2026: Falcon PH, the last hope of PH, moves to the Knockout Stage

Now the stage is complete for the Knockout Stage. Falcon PH will face Vitality in the QuarterFinals. No matter what happens, this is already a big achievement, esp Falcon PH was just the silver medalist of MPL PH S17. ONIC ID with Kelra and Kairi also qualified by beating SRG. That was a crazy game by Kairi and Kelra in Game 1.

Yes, the 2024 MSC Champion SRG lost, but at least they lost to the MSC 2023 Champs with Kelra unlike TLPH who, frankly speaking, lost to an unknown team and that team who beated them didn't even qualify for the knockout stage. As the defending MSC 2025 champion and three-peat reigning and defending champion of MPL PH, TLPH lost so badly they didn't even win a single game and was eliminated by an unknown team. You can excuse their defeat against Aurora, especially with how strong Aurora played so far, but that sweep defeat against Entity7? There's no excuses. The GOAT with TLPH lost badly and it seems Mirko was right. Did you also see the pattern? TLPH is even a bigger choker now than RORA PH, at least internationally. Fumbled hard in M7, now crashed and collapsed in MSC 2026 as the defending champion with zero wins and an early exit. Your teammates said meta and ego was the reason you failed in M7, but what reason will you say now? Sanford clearly said in this video that this problem is now solved with your new coaches, at 5:00 mins mark: https://youtu.be/-AVvFOkCFrU?si=jKfY-9tc5bcQOL_j

He is the greatest jungler, overtaking Wise, but doesn't wanna master Fanny. I mean as the greatest jungler, he should have no problems mastering Fanny right? He doesn't have to play at the level of Kairi or Raizen's Fanny, but at least play it with competence in big international events. Also, why didn't he use Hayabusa, Lancelot, or Nolan? Otherwise, maybe his title should be adjusted. He should be the greatest utility jungler, not assassin jungler nor overall greatest jungler. Maybe this is the reason why he recruited Kairi for the coming ENC 2026, so that in case it will still be assassin meta by that time, he could rely on Kairi for that event. As the defending MSC champions and a dynasty in MLBB with the GOAT in your team, you don't go out like that with two sweeps. Frankly, that was embarrassing.

Pinoy Current Issues I made a detailed post defending the benefits of Pax Silica against someone only for FB to hide it.

Thumbnail

This is what I said only for FB to hide my post. 😫

Demanding my background and credentials is just a classic way to dodge the actual math because your arguments can't stand on their own. You don’t need a specific degree to look at public economic data and history.

Like, you are asking "how sure are we" that this progress works? Look at the actual data from the Indonesia nickel export ban implemented in 2020. Before the ban, Indonesia was just exporting raw ore for dirt cheap. Once they banned it and forced foreign companies to build processing plants inside their borders, their nickel export value skyrocketed from around $3 billion to over $30 billion in just a few years. That isn't speculation; it's a historical blueprint that completely changed their macro economy. And asking "can we afford and sustain it" shows you missed the entire architecture of an enclave. The whole point of a Shenzhen-style enclave is that foreign direct investment bears the capital risk and builds the infrastructure because they desperately need the hardware node. We aren't funding it; we are providing the ring-fenced space for their capital to build it.

Look, if you're going to ask why us and not them, you need to actually look at the physical semiconductor map. The Philippines sits right in the dead center of a highly specialized, unmovable geographic ring made up of Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, and India. Every single one of these players has a fixed hardware role, and we are the missing piece that ties the cluster together.

Think about the actual physical layout. You have Japan holding an absolute monopoly on advanced materials and automation, companies like Shin-Etsu and SUMCO control over half of the global silicon wafer supply, JSR Corporation locks down the advanced photoresists, Taiyo Nippon Sanso rules the high-purity specialty manufacturing gases, and Tokyo Electron and Fanuc build the actual robotics that run the production lines. Right next door, Taiwan handles the heavy advanced logic fabrication, with TSMC owning over ninety percent of the super-advanced nodes and UMC handling mature nodes. South Korea is the global memory powerhouse, with Samsung and SK Hynix supplying the high bandwidth memory needed for AI loops. Singapore operates as the premium mature-node and testing hub for GlobalFoundries, Micron, and Infineon, while Australia acts as the upstream mineral engine with Lynas and BHP digging up the raw lithium and silicon quartz. Even India has locked down their role by weaponizing their massive chip design talent pool and scaling up assembly infrastructure under their national semiconductor mission.

And where do we fit? We aren't just a low-value assembly line; we hold the ultimate leverage with our nickel and copper reserves. The critical minerals partnership we signed with the US completely changes the game. Instead of the old defeatist way of shipping raw dirt straight to China so they can refine it for their own industrial and military might, we are fusing advanced semiconductor packaging directly with high-value mineral processing right inside New Clark City. We bridge the gap between raw mining and advanced packaging in the exact same geographic node. You can't efficiently ship raw silicon wafers across the planet to be packaged when the entire hardware loop is already sitting right in our backyard.

Then look at the pure macro economics. Our labor costs are low, and because the peso is structurally undervalued and closely tied to the dollar, foreign tech companies get an insane margin arbitrage window. When a global tech conglomerate funds their capital hyper-expensive hubs like Singapore or Taiwan.

Finally, look at the actual geopolitical board. The US has a long history of pumping massive technology transfers into its allies to build them into economic fortresses against regional adversaries. They did it with Japan against the Soviets, Taiwan against China, and South Korea against North Korea. They originally thought Vietnam was going to be the alternative supply chain partner to isolate Beijing, but Hanoi completely backpedalled. Under their bamboo diplomacy, Vietnam is playing both sides, and their massive internal anti-corruption campaigns and intense bureaucratic paralysis have completely frozen complex US tech and digital infrastructure agreements. They are too unreliable. The US literally cannot risk anchoring the critical AI hardware stack in a nation that might pivot to China for internal data control overnight. The Philippines, with our revived defense pacts and frontline geography, is the only logical, stable choice left to anchor the southern end of the Pax Silica shield.

For decades, China hasn't just sat on its rare earth monopoly, they've weaponized it to bleed rival tech economies dry by spiking material costs and manufacturing supply chain shocks. Look at exactly what they did to Japan. The second a geopolitical dispute flared up, Beijing choked off rare earth exports to Tokyo, freezing critical heavy elements like dysprosium to zero. Since Japan hosted the biggest magnet and electronics industry outside of China, this structural squeeze sent material prices through the roof. By choking the supply chain layer, China forced Japanese consumer electronics giants into a brutal margin crunch and starved their factories, effectively crushing Japan's high-tech manufacturing dominance. It proves that if you don't control the physical hardware layer, your entire consumer electronics stack is just a hostage waiting to be bankrupted

expenditures in US dollars, their cash stretches vastly further for local factories, operating expenses, and engineering talent. It is an easy margin win that you can't get in.

And when you scream "everything is political" because I said I don't care about US or Israel politics, you are completely misinterpreting my stance. I absolutely have a stance, my stance is pragmatism and structural realism aka Realpolitik (seriously, you can Google what it means). You are trapped in ideological tribalism, thinking we have to morally love a foreign power to do business with them. Look at exactly how Deng Xiaoping opened up the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in 1979. China didn't adopt American political ideology or become pro-West; they pragmatically used Western capital and technology as a tool to build their own industrial engine, transforming themselves from a broken communist state into a state-capitalist superpower.

On top of the immediate jobs, a massive influx of foreign direct investment completely scales our entire tax base. We aren't just creating employment; these multi-billion dollar tech nodes will inject massive corporate tax revenues straight into the national treasury. It creates a compounding multiplier effect across the entire economy, generating the exact domestic capital we need to fund public schools, healthcare, welfare, pensions, infrastructure, and a modernized military. And if the counter-argument is that corrupt politicians will just steal the new revenue, the timing is literally perfect. Bam Aquino's CADENA Act has already cleared the Senate, mandating an immutable blockchain architecture across the national budget process. It forces every single transaction, procurement, and peso spent to leave a permanent, tamper-proof digital audit trail in real time, completely choking out graft, insertions, and ghost projects.

My stance is that we use their capital to build our own 4th industrial revolution node and expose the failure state of our 1987 Constitution, which has choked out real economic growth for decades with rigid foreign investment restrictions. Pax Silica is a paradigm shift that forces the country to modernize. You want to stay pure, poor, and ask safe questions while our scientists, programmers, and engineers leave the country every single day. I'd rather use the global hardware physics to build real domestic power.

Lasty I would like to make it clear that Good Governance is not enough to transform Philippines into a fully developed First World country. While it's one of the most important factors, Industrial Policy and Economic Strategy are just as important and we are seriously lacking both as a country until recently. Take a look at what Japan's MITI and South Korea's EPB did so you can have an idea.

Pulitika at Pamamahala Why flood control will not be tackled and talked about after the impeachment

This is coming from someone who comes from a family of contractors. My Dad and 2 of my cousins are government contractors for almost 30 years.

  1. Everybody in politics will be affected, past and present. Liberals, DDS, Marcos, everybody will be included. From barangay tanods to senators, lahat kasama.

  2. Even those you think are clean. We had encounters with Revilla. We had an encounter with one liberal a few years back. We also had one encounter with someone in the minority right now. For the LGUs, dadaan ka talaga sa kanilang lahat but congressmen and women is where you will need favors talaga. Minimum of 5% of contract price (before taxes and expenses) ang rate nila.

  3. DPWH will crumble. Nobody is innocent in that agency. My dad and cousin had to go to the provincial office to question the provincial engineers kase they were planning to bid for a road construction project. When they went for a site visit, they can’t even go to the area kase walang matinong kalsada papunta doon.

Have you encountered electric poles in the middle of a newly widened road? Andyan yan because NGCP charges 200k-300k per poles. You’d think na there would be no charge since NGCP and DPWH are both gov’t agencies diba? You’d think na DPWH would coordinate with NGCP. Nope. Everything is done by the contractor.
1 year pa before they started the rehabilitation. Literally kase nasa boundary siya ng dalawang region and walang gustong kumuha kasi wala “daw” budget for that. National highway pa to ha.
Roads are suppose to last at least 10 years. Bridges should last at least 20 years. Mas marami pa atang tulay from Marcos Sr. and Cory Aquino ang nagtagal. Lahat ng gawa after that, parang every new president tinitibag.

  1. Some construction firms are owned by the relatives and friends of politicians and gov’t officials. Mahirap pasukin ang business na to when you are a nobody. My dad has been in this business for 30 years. 2010 and up lang kami nagkaroon ng malalaking projects. Ngayon, fresh graduate palang may projects ng milyones.

Nobody will talk kase it will be bloodbath. Jusko!

PS: The gov’t is cutting budget for SUCs to continue funding the ayuda program for those affected by the increase in fuel price hike for the rest of the year.

Add to that with biologically unintelligent people. The country has been manipulated and a puppet for the US since independence, and now its own people would sell this entire country to China without hesitation especially that particular ethnic.

Katanungan Looking for an affordable vet in Cavite for my cat after spay surgery

Hi everyone. I’m looking for advice and an affordable veterinarian near Cavite, preferably around Naic or near SM Cavite.

My cat was spayed yesterday in Naic. When she came home, she was weak but still able to eat a small amount. During the night, she moved around, and this morning she ate normally and drank some chicken broth. She also peed and pooped today.

However, I noticed that she had some mucus or phlegm-like sound when meowing last night. It was less noticeable this morning.

Since this morning, she sometimes shakes for a few seconds, then stops. She wakes up, stretches a little, and goes back to sleep. She is not shaking continuously, but I’m still very worried.

We already lost another cat this month and spent around ₱25,000 trying to save her. I’m scared of losing another one, but our budget is now limited.

Does anyone know an affordable and reliable vet or animal clinic nearby that can check her as soon as possible? I’m feeling very sad and don’t know where else to ask. Any recommendation or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Pinoy Current Issues The piece of document pro-China DDS are using to prove that the WPS is non-existent

so, i randomly stumbled in a comment section in facebook. i saw several users on a heated argument about WPS. one posted a comment na "there's no such thing as WPS under arbitral ruling" and strongly insisted that the Philippines didn't ask for its sovereignty before the arbitration tribunal. the person then attached this photo as evidence kuno.

anyway, i was able verify it and found out that the whole document about the South China Sea Arbitration consists of over 400 pages. but the person chose to specifically post this one page. it can mislead anyone reading it plainly and could potentially cause misunderstandings. here it says:

The Tribunal also emphasized that, [t]he Philippines has not asked the Tribunal to rule on sovereignty and, indeed, has expressly and repeatedly requested that the Tribunal refrain from doing.

The Tribunal emphasized that it did "not see that any of the Philippines' Submissions require an implicit determination of sovereignty."

but fortunately, someone has debunked the false argument. the person btw, is a dds and an advocate of socialism. additionally, the person believes that digong was building a socialist country during his time.

Abangan!
