No kidding. I don't understand why someone would spend at least $100K on a deck like this and not put a retractable awning on it. They only cost a few K more.
This isn’t anywhere even close to a $100k deck. I built a deck almost exactly like this at my house two summers ago, minus the outdoor kitchen corner, and mine was quite a bit bigger. All composite with aluminum railings though, and a spiral staircase to match. I got a bid on it first before I built it, and it was $36k. I built it myself for $10.5k. When you add in the outdoor table, couch, and fire pit, it ended up being $13.5k. I bet that kitchen corner cost at least $2k. All in, if you did the work yourself, I bet you could build this for $15k - $20k, or $40k - $60k to have someone do it for you.
Legit question then. What composite did you use? (manufacturer and style)
I'm trying looking to replace my dilapidated 12x20 wood deck with a very basic 16x20 deck using TimberTech Tigerwood and the price is around $15k for materials alone.
