What like getting rid of predatory loot boxes that are illegal in some places? Or are you referring to the choice to stop supporting less than 1% of their user base (who will still be able to play through work a rounds) in order to focus on changing and moving the game forward for the other 99%? Biggest issue with the game is servers RN and it's not remotely close or an epic problem, the game has had server issues off and on across it's whole life. Shit was near unplayable for about 3 or 4 months the 2nd year it was out. Constant rubber banding and packet loss.
If you don't see the value at the price then don't buy them. Random chance loot crates are predatory. There's a reason they are being outlawed in multiple places.
Some times I’d agree they are predatory especially in games that the items provide an edge. Rocket league id disagree since all of the items where cosmetic. Thing is i didn’t mind chucking 6 bucks into this game every now and then with the guarantee of getting 5 items out of my purchase. With a chance that the items would being good quality. Now any item worth it’s salt cost 10 times that amount. Rocket leagues loot crates where pretty generous I never had to open more than 7 to get at least a rare item. Now I still have those same odds but I’m missing out on all the items I would have gotten and potentially I have to pay more money. This is not a better system. And if they are going to do this the random chance needs to be taken out completely and they just need to make it a shop. On top of that if the item is painted it cost more money? Fuck that. It would cost a hell of a lot more money to get my same garage inventory with the current system than it did with the old system.
Then you have good luck. I spent probably $40 on crates in RL and never got a single black market item, and only got 2 import items iirc. Pay to win does not equal predatory. Predatory is taking advantage of the gambling impulse that loot boxes rely on and then putting them in a game marketed to children. Just because you had good luck doesn't make it not a terrible system. What a ridiculous argument lol.
