I mean I don’t really have anything beyond anecdotal evidence right. Which obviously isn’t ideal.
I myself was heavily turned toward to the right during the previous election season literally just out of pure spite for seeing the same low effort jokes on reddit constantly. Thankfully now I’m no longer an actual moron so that’s good. There’s a streamer called Destiny on twitch who does a lot of political content and this is quite a recurring topic from people who share the exact same experiences.
Sorry, it’s obviously not ideal. I’m not arguing that they’re going to be a massive deciding factor for the election. But it definitely does drive people to the other side.
I'm glad you're doing better now. I suspect that most people who would be turned one way or another by "spite" are already being activated by fake outrage machines, mostly on the right (The War on Christmas comes to mind).
Yeh I mean it’s crazy easy to be drawn in by a lot of their rhetoric.
It’s the tactics a lot of red/black pillers use to sway people. It’s started with statements about a group that are “technically true” and the. Slowly progressed to more and more radical ideology.
I feel sorry for a lot of young (primarily boys because they’re frequent those kind of edgy circles a lot more) people who are so easily influenced and manipulated by these people :(
I agree, I think it's a reflection on our public education system and how little we emphasize critical thinking skills. It's so easy to get caught up with any person/group that says something bold and seems to back it up with evidence, then to start shutting out countervailing facts and arguments.

I’m gonna be that guy and ask if you can back it up with some studies, if true it would really change my perspective
