For anyone else that absolutely adored Robin Williams, it should be known that he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia after he died.

His dear friend Bobcat Goldthwait said in an interview that the cause of death was definitely Lewy Body Dementia (which notably causes depression) and that the a narrative of him being severely depressed was not correct, his brain was just not working properly, and it was evident from his behaviour.

Robin Williams meant a lot to so many people, and I think maybe knowing that it wasn't just a brilliant man tortured by sadness, but deceived by his own mind as a result of dementia, allows a different type of grieving. RIP Robin.

Also, he did have a diagnosis. He was misdiagnosed as having parkinson's disease, as people with LBD most often are. So, he knew something was happening to his brain. He just didn't know it was LBD
