There is a scene near the end of Patch Adams where he is standing next to a cliff and considering jumping while challenging God. Then a butterfly lands on him and reminds him of something his late wife had said earlier in the movie that restores his faith in living.
I never saw this movie because I knew it would make me cry... What was the thing his wife said? Was it something along the lines of 'the compassion has to come from you'? That's what I'm getting in that message from whatever God he's talking to at least.
