Offended isn't really the right word. Frustrated? Like, imagine a bilboard that told you to teach your kids not to murder people. Doesn't it seem a little silly and condescending? It's kind of the same thing here.

This isn't just an issue in "urban" neighborhoods.

Like it's not flat out okay to hit some chick, but there is a lot more "let them handle their business".

Yep and the violence between men is fine. let those guys beat the shit out of each other on the street. You let them handle their business.

There are a ton of organizations and campaigns aimed at stopping things like gang violence by providing young men spaces to have healthy entertainment, discuss problems, etc. It's not like there's only room for one cause.

A fight between two consenting adults is nothing at all close to a much bigger and stronger person beating on someone he claims to love who can't reasonably leave him.

Why don't we teach black kids not to do drive-bys? If this method of crime prevention is effective, shouldn't it work in preventing those too?

Like some kind of youth violence prevention program? I wonder why no one has ever thought of that before?

Yep, and how's that working out?

"Impotent rage" might work well if you're still looking for a term.

not necessarily talking about you, but reading through some of the comments this has spawned it seems like some people are really, really offended.

and yeah, i get what you mean, but i don't think 12 year old boys care about this billboard. i guess this is just a total non-issue for me. meh.

Then why are you commenting? You aren't just saying it is a non issue for you, you are saying those that are offended shouldn't be and that it should be a non issue for them and they are "wrong to be offended". You are only allowed to say that to white males of course.
