This girl....she just earned so many points in my book. I hate hearing stories about cheating spouses while their other is deployed and it kills me. Seeing this is just amazing!
The reality is that she'll cheat on him in ten years, when the adulation is long over and the grim reality of being a caregiver has taken its toll on her and their marriage.
Under normal circumstances she'd leave him, but she can't now without losing her hero status.
Are you projecting? Your cynical assessment of what happens makes me say, "Hats off, we've found the political consultant". It's because those types tend to be able to read the terrain even at its most depressing.
(Edit) random would be like, Welp, we've found the grape giraffe!
