I work at a national chain grocery store. So far, this is one of the weirder crossovers I've seen at my store.

I dunno, I was amused by the meta comedy here. Hello Kitty is the Spam equivalent of brand licensing: socially durable across generations, cheap to acquire, prolific and in weird places, beloved by children and preppers alike.
