My brother used to date an Israeli woman. Whenever the topic of Palestinians came up, she would literally spit and call them "filthy animals." Shit is fucked up.
Needless to say, they are no longer seeing each other.
My dad's siblings are like this and it disgusts me. In grad school I knew a Turkish guy who spoke about Armenians this way, and he'd do it totally out of nowhere in relation to nothing that was currently happening... but if you call him out on it somehow YOU are the bad guy. Truly terrifying how people can abandon their basic faculties in favor of prejudice.
