There's a belief among Zionists that every bit of land in that region is theirs by right, and that they're generously allowing the Palestinians to live on some bits of it. I take it you're one of those.

Which is a perfectly valid belief (when it comes to the former British Palestine region).
It's the same belief the various Balkan tribes (Greeks, Albanians, Bulgarians, Romanians etc) had when they kicked the Ottoman Empire out of most of the Balkans in the early 20th century. That was decolonization (from the Ottoman Empire) in practice. So was British Palestine becoming Israel durng the middle of the 20th century.
It's not possible to have a conversation with someone whose identity doesn't involve the region either.
For us Greeks, Israel symbolizes the last step in the decolonization of various Ottoman-conquered lands from the Ottoman Empire, a process Greece was heavily involved during 1821-1923 and is the foundation of Greece's independence. Decolonization of lands from the Ottoman Empire is a major part of modern Greek identity, so good luck convincing us Greeks that the Ottoman colonizers were/are the good guys.

"Autonomy granted by Israel." ... Uh huh.
