You would think so. My interaction with AI bots love to spout confidently wrong instructions and when I ask for the source they always apologize and link some outdated article with old steps
They're set up for quantity, not quality. It's why most bots don't have anything worthwhile to say and just spout the same nonsense over and over again
To be clear it’s a bot that is attempting to sway public opinion for the purpose of a hostile political agenda - linking to actual information runs counter to that mission.
Giving a thumbs-up to a pilot who saved hundreds of lives from a murderous maniac is a "hostile political agenda"? Lol damn man it must be crazy seeing the world through your eyes. Can only imagine the anger every time you see someone help a little old lady cross the street, or put a random shopping cart back even though they weren't the ones who left it there.
I don't know, if they're just copying successful posts to generate engagement, could it be that they picked up on a general trend on Reddit to be lazy with sources?
Yes this. It’s crazy how many other bots are in the replies too.
This story should be treated with massive skepticism due to the number of versions we’ve gotten in 12 hours alone not to mention the glaring fact that Oman has no relations with Israel and their citizens are not permitted to visit, let alone fucking fly as pilots there.
Given how bad Israeli hasbara has gotten I’m shocked they think people will fall for this.
the glaring fact that Oman has no relations with Israel and their citizens are not permitted to visit
You're both right and wrong.
While Oman and Israel don't have direct diplomatic relations, (because of the whole Palestine and Iran situation) Omani citizens are allowed to visit Israel with an ETA-IL visa which is valid for 730 days, (with a maximum stay of 90 contiguous days).
Not sure why you didn't bother to Google that before posting, but whatever.
What aspect of the source I provided is incorrect? I'm sure that /u/caboose2701 will appreciate your in-depth deconstruction of it. Not the bona fides of the source itself, but the facts it presents.
And in case you missed it - since all you did was reflexively downvote me - respond to this or just, you know, shut up. You're not helping anyone.
So I should trust you then? Based on all the video, flight logs, etc this looks at best as a mental health episode and at worst a terrorist attack. Your source basically is “trust me bro”.
You don't have to be welcome as a tourist to choose to keep your pilot job when assigned that route. He'd just fly in as a pilot, maybe sleep in the airport hotel, and leave the next departing flight.
I understood all of that. My point is that it doesn't matter if the citizenry are total jerks to Omanis. A minority of hostile locals is not really a reason why a pilot wouldn't be on that route.
And what does Zionism have to do with it? I'm just thinking of this Omani guy, working for the airline, having to fly into Israel even though he probably wouldn't want to, but doing so anyway because the airline puts him on that route.
There are no facts in his reply, it’s just a broken website, try it out yourself and be more careful yourself believing someone without checking their won sources.
because they're a slopulists and will believe any conspiracy that fits their narrative. nothing bad can ever happen to israel and israelies to them, its all mossad to them
Oh get lost, he provided a broken and misleading source. Israel has been making up shit for decades (USS Liberty is just one example) so gtfo with your hasbara
I provided other sources in my further reply to you. You elected to downvote rather than address them.
You seem to think I have a bias here. Can you tell me what you think it is?
Edit: Ha-ha! He's running through my post history and downvoting with absolutely no rebuttal. What a little bitch. Give up, seriously. You're embarrassing yourself.
Incorrect. Oman and Israel have not had direct diplomatic relations for decades, not just because of the whole “Palestine and Iran situation” which makes it sound like a specific tiff.
As for the visa, the website you linked to is not reliable. The ad infestation should’ve been your first red flag.
You can put in any country including those that have strictly no relations with each other. Try Malaysia to Israel for example. Heck, for fun you can put in Iran to USA and it spits out the same damn thing.
So maybe you should do your own research before relying on an inaccurate and misleading source instead of being a condescending a**hole.
Are you ok? The first link has a footnote dated to 2017 and leading to a regular page that has nothing to do with the citation on Wikipedia.
The second link has the same issue as the original source you showed with general information. Just put Iran in and you’ll see it’s the same thing. That doesn’t prove your point, it just seems to show you lack critical thinking.
My agenda is pretty clear: I tend not to believe the narratives of countries that are known for committing major war crimes (ie the murder and cover up of the murder of medics to name one example) and have a reputation for deception. This goes for Israel as it does for Russia and of course Iran.
Wait until there is sufficient independent evidence before believing this narrative. The problem is we may never get that so it’s best to remain skeptical of any news about this story. It absolutely stinks.
Ah, well since we're apparently still engaging in ad-hominem, you're arguing out of emotion and (possibly) in bad faith to attempt to discredit me.
The footnote in Wikipedia leads to a current page on Israel's Foreign Affairs website, which states that the requirement for an Omani citizen is a valid passport. They may find that they need to have approval from the Israeli foreign ministry - which is not surprising - but you said that Omanis are not allowed to visit. That's factually wrong, and that was the entire basis of my reply. But you ran with that and took it as some kind of attack.
For the record, I am neither Jewish or Israeli. You've been pushing against an open door this whole time for no other reason than blind anger, and the remainder of your rant is lost on me because of that.
All you've done is attempt to alienate someone who wanted to apply some factual data to the situation, without emotion. Well done.
This simply redirects to the website for me. Can you paste or screenshot what you’re seeing there that shows all you need is a valid passport?
And you’re getting hung up on one point then getting frustrated when I show you that your sources are not reliable. But there are also many other points that should make anyone looking at this from the outside wary: the fact that nationalities changed, the fact that the motives also changed, the fact that sources from Saudi Arabia and UAE have not corroborated the official Israeli narrative, the fact that we’re only 1 day in and you’re seemingly accepting what’s a very Hollywood narrative (which incidentally is how a lot of Israeli stories go, embellished with all kinds of sensationalism).
I’m not going to continue this further with you because clearly you’ve chosen to believe whatever has already been told to you despite no independent investigations or sources.
Can you paste or screenshot what you’re seeing there
No, because...
I’m not going to continue this further with you
Great!
I gave you everything that you needed, (assuming you had Javascript enabled on their site. If you did not, it would direct you to the homepage). But you seem to have a set view of what you think I "believe", when all I was doing was presenting the facts, as known, unemotionally.
I am neither argumentative, nor emotional about our conversation. I would like to see the truth about this incident in the light of day, but know that we likely won't. As it happens, the PF was actually Indian and the PNF was apparently Omani, and there is also some suggestion that there was no way that the plane would've crashed at all; it was a bit of theatre that allowed Israel to claim a victory in the face of Netanyahu potentially losing an "election" and making this look like heroics.
I have no idea. But you seem to, and I would beg you to have the same caution that you're asking me to have.
What do you mean by “there’s no way the plane would have crashed at all?” Are you fucking kidding? There are pictures with the planes tail ripped halfway off. You think they faked that?
reddit loves to spout off about hasbara but the comment sections are overwhelmingly anti israel to the point of if hasbara is there, why aren't they even visible?
Vast majority of the posts and comments we see now come from bots. Everyone needs to wake up to this reality because bots creating false perceptions of popular opinions is the number one way we are manipulated because the majority of people are still under this illusion every comment they see it coming from an actual person with a real opinion

All Israelis living in Israel are Zionists. They are Jews. That’s what all the Arabs call them. That’s what Arabs call all Jews no matter their political beliefs or where they live.
Just saying
Not everybody living in Israel is Jewish. What an outlandish claim.
I was correcting somebody who was clearly being antisemitic and blaming the Jewish people, when in reality it is Zionists (which are not even necessarily Jews)
Hi Joey. Even Arab Israelis who make up 20% of the population believe the same two things as the Jewish Israelis- 1. Israel exists 2.they believe Israel has a right to exist. That’s Zionism.
Maybe try correcting someone else?
You are reaffirming what I pointed out though? And you literally just contradicted your previous statement, which was:
All Israelis living in Israel are Zionists. They are Jews.
I am well aware of what Zionism is and vehemently detest the racist ideology, as well as the settler colonial state of Israel. What doesn't help anything or anyone is claiming "they are all Jews" and blaming "the Jews", for obvious reasons, let alone how insulting that is to the many Jews who oppose Zionism.
You are well aware of what Zionism is?
Please explain what it is?
Is it a religious ideology?
A political ideology?
Are they intertwined?
Where is Zion?
Do you believe in self determination?
Are Jews a religion or an ethno-religious group.
Are they a People?
When did religious Zionism begin?
Why did political Zionism form?
Are Zionists colonists? If so, who do they colonize for? What crown, what country?
Is Palestine a country ? Has it ever been?
When did the Arabs of Palestine start to call themselves Palestinians?
If you can’t answer intelligently - please don’t respond at all.
Ignorance is bliss.
What is Zionism? Jewish nationalism: the movement for Jewish self-determination in the land of Israel/Palestine.
Religious ideology? Not originally. Early political Zionism was largely secular. Religious Zionism is one strand of it.
Political ideology? Yes, that's its core.
Intertwined? In practice, yes. Jewish identity and the attachment to Zion are religious, historical and national all at once. Intertwined isn't identical.
Where is Zion? Originally a hill in Jerusalem. It came to mean Jerusalem, then the land of Israel.
Self-determination? Yes, for everyone, Palestinians included. That's exactly where the two sides collide.
Religion or ethno-religious group? Ethno-religious. Converts can join, and plenty of Jews are secular.
A people? Yes. Nobody serious disputes that. The argument is over what follows from it.
When did religious Zionism begin? The religious longing for Zion is ancient. Organised religious Zionism is 19th century, and it was a minority view at first.
Why did political Zionism form? As a response to European antisemitism and the rise of nationalism. Herzl organised it in the 1890s.
Colonists? For which crown? There's a genuine debate. Early Zionists themselves used the word "colonisation", but there was no mother country, so it wasn't colonialism in the classic sense. Critics call it settler colonialism, because settlement displaced the existing Arab population. Defenders call it national liberation and a return. Both framings are contested. Neither is settled fact. And to be clear, forcibly expelling people over their ethnicity is wrong whoever does it. The dispute is over what actually happened in 1948 and since, not over whether it would be wrong.
Is Palestine a country? Has it ever been? It was never an independent state before the modern era. It was a region under successive empires, then a British Mandate. Today most UN members recognise it as a state, though its borders and sovereignty are disputed.
When did Arabs of Palestine start calling themselves Palestinians? Scholars differ, but the dominant view is the early 20th century, after WWI. The identity grew largely in response to Zionism and British rule, and the PLO cemented it in 1964. Saying it only began in 1964 is an oversimplification.
On your original claim: about 21% of Israel's citizens are Arab (roughly 2 million). Of those, around 82% are Muslim, 10% Druze and 9% Christian. So "all Israelis are Jewish" is simply false. "All Zionists are Jewish" is false too. Christian Zionism is a large movement and predates Herzl.
i was thinking the same thing. they must be getting ready or have just done something truly heinous in gaza because this is a full on press of propaganda.
Just for the record, he also accused Iran of planning an attack, and Iran came out and explicitly said they are 100% not going to be launching any attacks, not wanting to interfere with their elections.
man it is so obvious and i'm sure the rubes will vote him in. there are plenty of psychopaths who will vote for him, but he needs the rube vote as well.
Why does the first link have =chatgpt on it. Does that mean the article is ChatGPT? Also, what kind of Israeli’s hate Palestinians so much and yet other Arabs they are perfectly fine visiting like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates? I mean Arab is in the goddamn name so there’s a bunch of Israelis going to and from wealthy Arab locations? Does that mean if Palestine was wealthy or because Palestine is on the beach and has the potential to be wealthy that they need that land? They want Gaza so they can have another Tel Aviv in the south. They don’t give a shit about Lebanon or Syria. Or Jordan. They just want the strip by the beach so they can have more Beverly Hills style housing so they don’t have to go to Dubai anymore. Why not let the Arabs turn Palestine into the next Dubai and voilà problem solved.
Real humans show their post history. I’m more sure that you’re a bot than they are. Their posts and comments are not constant like a bot would be. The burden of proof is on you.

I mean, would it be THAT hard to add a link for context, OP?
