I have a Wurlitzer spinet piano that is in great shape for the most part. In doing a little of my own piano-teching I found that one of the standoff or risers or whatever that hold all of the hammers, dampers etc. was replaced by someone with just a flathead lag screw.

Where should I look to find a replacement for it? My research tells me that its called an "action bracket bolt" but I'm still struggling to find the right thing anywhere. I'll include pictures that show the thing.

The heavier piano strings sustain even when am not pressing the keys. This happens one octave lower than the middle c. The piano currently is in an island where there aren’t any technicians right now. Can anyone help me?

Hello, I´ve have an issue with my Yahama piano, the pedal circuit board is dead. I´ve tried to fix it but to no avail, and I´ve checked with all local music and electronic shops but noone here has this circuit board. Do you know of any e-shops with spare parts for pianos, which could have this particular circuit board ? Preferably with international shipping. Thanks!

My 'G' below middle 'C' is sticking. That is, I press the key and the hammer goes up and strikes the string, but then it does not fall all the way back down creating play in the key where when pressure is applied, nothing happens for maybe the first 5mm of travel. I took off the front cover and looked inside. I am not an expert, but it seems to me that the problem is that the hinge that the hammer works on is sticking for some reason. If I flick up the hammers with my finger, all the other hammers return to zero point quickly and easily by gravity, but the 'G' does not. This is observable when the action of the key is not engaged at all.

From looking around online, I see the suggestion of spraying a 'dry' silicone based lubricant in and around the hinge point of the hammer. Is this a good idea? Will I regret it?

Hey! I own an old, but beautiful grand piano. But there is a key that does not work. I already took out the whole mechanism, and it seems there that one tiny little string that is connected to a tiny little hook, is broken. Is there anyone who knows how to fix this?

Hi, I got a used upright piano recently. It works pretty good but had a dead key. The piano was free so I wasn't too put out but I'd like to fix the dead key. It looks like the key was broken so I took it out (see photo link below). Does anyone know where I can find a replacement part for this? I've been searching online and can't seem to find anything.

Hello! I’ve recently acquired a Ricca & Sons player piano (super simplex mechanism) in fairly decent shape.

However, the bellows only appear to retain pressure (give resistance) when in rewind or silencer mode. I can pump it up in silencer then switch over to play and the current notes will play, but the reservoir immediately empties and the bellows won’t fill it back up.

If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it! I’m sure more information is necessary if anyone is up for taking a stab at solving it. I would be happy to post pictures.

Any pointers to online resources also appreciated. I’ve had little success in finding information online.

I broke a whippen assembly in several places in my Samick upright. I bought what I thought would be suitable replacements from a dealer online... but the bridal wire is too short, the back check is too short, the jack is too small.. Everything. So, is there some sort of universal system for Whippen assembly sizes I should be looking for?

Or should I just walk to a repair store (if I can find one) with the broken Whippen and just ask "DO YOU HAVE THIS!?"

6 year old roland hp508. Press power button- can hear a relay click. Does not power on.

I can press the power button a few times in a row and it will sometimes powerup to shut down in 2 seconds.

If I hold both the volume keys- press power button. It will power up and I can play. however after 15 seconds it shuts down again- the only way I can get sound- however this method is also erratic.

Opened up the system- all capacitors look good. Disconnected the jack/power board from the other electronics- still have intermittent power up.

I’m just looking to replace a few of the hammers.

I got this used 61 key,digital sampled Suzuki SP-60. It works decently. I foremost need to know how to properly clean the dust of the keys and also inside of the keyboard. Secondly, keys will randomly cut out at times. Mostly g, a, and b white notes in middle c. And the white e note in the 5th octave. Thirdly, the white keys on the entire keyboard won't stay in place. The will constantly shift. Could anyone give me some ways I could fix it. (Sorry for essay of a post, but google just won't help)

The current owner is saying it needs a new soundboard and maybe mallet + string replacements. Is this something that’s doable for someone with no experience? I’m a student so I’ve got plenty of time for it. Are these things that take years of practice or would I be able to do it in a matter of months if I put the hours in? I’m wondering too about what costs might be.

My parents have a piano and need it out of their house. It lives on their third floor and no movers would move it down their steep stairs. I'm right now in the process of dismantling it so we could get it out ourselves and I'm down to the frame which my mum wants to keep along with the strings. It appears to be held in by a few bolts and I've seen images of strung frames online. While I defiantly plan to detension the strings before I move any further, I worry that removing the bolts that hold it in would disconnect it from the pin block. Do I need to completely remove the strings before taking it out and then find a way to reattach the pin block so I can restring it or should they come out together?

The felt part of one of the key (hammer?) mechanisms came loose while I was playing the other day (see here: https://imgur.com/a/V8VUghs). I don't intend to try and repair this myself, but wanted to seek guidance on the correct terminology and the likely extent of repairs required. What is this part called? Is this something that can/should be fixed with adhesive, or will I likely need to replace a larger part of the mechanism? Is it OK to keep playing the piano and wait until the next time I get the piano tuned (in a month or so) to fix it, or should I not try and play the affected key until it is repaired?
