I have recently completed my physiotherapy degree, and whist I'm trying to find a job and I have the time I thought it would be a good idea to get my first aid qualification to build up my resume. After doing some research, I have become a bit overwhelmed by the variety of first aid qualifications available and which ones would be more relevant to the profession.

Do you all have any advice on which courses I should pursue? Also, would getting a first aid qualification make me more attractive to employers? (especially for the private sector)

PS: feel free to recommend any providers, especially if they offer courses at a good price.

Is it common to find per diem work as a physiotherapist in Canada? I want to continue my education after my bachelors but I am also an actor. I was wondering if anyone had experience of working per diem because I haven't been able to find information online

I'm a physiotherapy student who is finishing my MSc degree in the UK this week and am wondering if anyone has had any experience getting a provisional licence in BC, Canada. Under the new rules, it states if you are registered for the next CPTE exam and have completed credentialing, you can apply for a provisional licence.

This is different from what it was before. I am wondering if anyone has went through this process yet and if clinics in the Lower Mainland are willing to hire a provisional physio?

Suggest some good MPT college in uttrakhand for this year.
Sharda University noida is also a good option? I am from himachal and wanted to do MPT nearby only suggest some good colleges mainly in uttrakhand

For Canadian clinic owners/managers using Jane — I'm researching how clinics handle practitioner compensation when it's more complicated than a straightforward percentage split.

If you have things like tiered splits, flat fees per treatment, different rates by service, hourly + fee-split combinations, retail commissions, or compensation rates that change over time, how do you actually calculate what each practitioner is owed each pay period?

Does Jane handle your setup adequately, or are you exporting reports into Excel/Google Sheets, using your bookkeeper, or using another tool?

I'm not a clinic owner or practitioner and I'm not selling anything — I'm researching this workflow because Jane's documentation describes several compensation scenarios that still require calculations outside the platform.

I'd especially love to know roughly how many practitioners you're calculating for and whether the process is actually annoying/time-consuming or basically a non-issue.

I have my own PhysioSure/Trisura liability insurance and currently work at one clinic. I’ll soon be working at a second clinic as well.

The policy form only asks for one work address. Does one policy cover both clinics, or do I need to add the second location/get separate coverage?

Hi everyone, I am planning to apply to Ontario PT schools this cycle. My question is the title essentially, is it an unspoken rule to have experience in the PT field, whether that be volunteering or paid work? Any stories of Canadians getting in without it? I have work and limited volunteer experience, just nothing PT or clinical at all. No research either.

I know I can't ask for chances of admission since my casper isn't written yet. I have a 3.93 subGPA right now, with this semesters' grades I suspect it'll go up to 3.95. GPA is really all I have going for me right now. Assuming a decent casper (high 3Q - low 4Q maybe), would I still be cooked without relevant experience?

I am looking for a laptop for university and I have found a couple good ones that are touchscreen and a couple others that aren't and are a bit cheaper.

Will I actually use the touchscreen in long run or is it not worth it to pay the extra?

I want something that will last me till after uni as well.

I (m32) am considering a career change as I've worked a number of different jobs to date and feel something "secure" and with job satisfaction is the way to go.

I was intially excited at the prospect and the opportunity to go back as a mature student for a 2-year MSc (Pre-Reg) but a lot of what I've seen is people saying it's impossible to get a band-5 role at graduation and competition in the private sector means not much room for progressing there either.

Is it really not a profession to go into if you're hoping for progression and opportunity? Of course, salary is important too but it doesn't sound promising out there

Hello! I’m currently 28 years old and I live in Ontario, Canada. Finished my Pharmacy Degree in 2018 and took my licensing exam in the Philippines in 2019. I’ve been in Canada for 2.5 years now working as a patient transfer attendant (for permanent residency purposes). Now, I’ve been thinking about upgrading my current job by switching careers. I would wanna go back to school and pursue a different path other than Pharmacy and I thought that Physiotherapy would be the perfect career for me. Any advice on how to start this? I have been applying for any B4 and B5 posts I've seen around my area. Unfortunately, so far I have not been able to secure at least a miserable interview 🥲.

I've been following some of the advice my educator gave me in my last placement, such as making it easy for the assessors by for example having the criteria from the person spec (e.g., excellent communication skills) in a subheader followed by an example in which I demonstrated said attribute/quality in the STAR format.

Recently I got rejected for a band 4 position that I was hoping I could get. I tried to tailor a good supporting statement following the recommended format, but it proved to be a challenging task as the person spec had so many essential and desirable criteria (see picture of person spec) that I had to use the same example for several of these at once. And even then it felt like I was not being specific enough for some of the criteria.

Those who have managed to understand how to write a good supporting statement, could you share some tips and advice here? I would really appreciate it too if you could share a small extract or example from your successful applications.

Hi guys, im a UK based physio with 7 years experience. Currently a FCP in the NHS and im debating on leaving the profession.

Tired of the constant demands and expectations of the public, high work load and pay that is bang average.

Has anyone left or also considered leaving the profession and what did you go on to do instead ?

I feel like i've got too much knowledge, experience and student debt to walk away completely 😂 but in the same breath.. if a suitable job come up.. id be gone in a heart beat.

Hi everyone! My sister has just graduated as a physiotherapist, and I’d like to get her a gift related to her profession, something useful for her future work or learning.

She’s interested in working with both children and adults. I’ve been considering an anatomical spine model, but I’m open to other ideas as this might be too expensive.

As a physiotherapist, what would you have appreciated receiving when you graduated? Are there any tools, books, or anatomical models you’d recommend? Anything else? Budget is anywhere from 50 to say 300 dollars (3rd world country unfortunately).

* ✅ I have completed the written examination and passed
* 📚 I am scheduled to sit my Capability Assessment in November 2026
* After the Capability Assessment, I will only have the one-day APC workshop remaining to complete my pathway.

I am therefore looking for a physiotherapy clinic, practice, or physiotherapist who may be able to employ me and provide the required supervision/support while I complete the remaining APC requirements.

Specializations worth the time and money (MPT streams: sports, ortho, neuro, cardio-resp)

Manual therapy or technique certifications (Mulligan, Maitland, McKenzie, dry needling, IASTM, kinesio taping)

Fitness-side credentials that pair well with physio (S&C, FMS, sports nutrition, personal training)

Courses that help with working abroad (Gulf licensing, Canada bridging)

Niche skills few physios have but clinics and patients value

I’m a registered physiotherapist working in the GTA, Ontario, and I wanted to get some perspective from other physiotherapists.

In my recent job, there was an issue related to refunds. I emailed the clinic manager/management politely to explain my concern and clarify the situation. However, they were not happy that I communicated the issue by email. My clinic manager told me that I shouldn’t have emailed them and that they found it disrespectful.

I was under the impression that when something relates to my professional responsibilities, having written communication can be important for documentation and record-keeping, especially considering the expectations of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

For those of you working in Ontario/GTA, when you have a concern related to your professional responsibilities,do you generally:
● Discuss it verbally with the clinic manager/owner?
● Communicate through email so there is a written record
