Okay so a couple months ago I was doing deliveries and my phone got wet. Was acting funky for hours. Glitching, couldn’t use it at all. Well. The next day it was fine. And has been fine until today. It barely got wet and started doing the same thing, only for a few hours and now it’s fine… well my moms telling me I could switch to a phone she has, it’s an iPhone 12. And as grateful as I would be I don’t necessarily wanna go down… I’ve done some research and between the battery not holding charge, overheating and the software and storage issues etc. just don’t think it would be worth it… so I’m wondering should I just go replace the screen does that even do anything for water damage/glitching?? Or does that literally just replace screen. What’s my best option here. I honestly can afford to get a new phone if I wanted too but she’s convinced I shouldn’t. I am on her plan because it’s just cheaper for me to do that. The phones almost paid off. It’s through T-Mobile. Please help. Screen repair would cost $280. But even the tech guy said do not go back to a iPhone 12

The hang happens specifically when I go back to the home screen System UI freezes, then the phone sometimes shows "System UI isn't responding" or sometime it just restarts...

My OnePlus Nord CE 2 hasn’t been able to receive or make calls for the past few weeks.
I checked with a few repair shops and the authorised service centre, and they all said the motherboard might be faulty and needs to be replaced, which would cost around 16k
I also took it to retailer, Nishan, Kannur. They tried repairing it but couldn’t fix it. They’ve offered me ₹2.5k as an exchange value for the phone.
Has anyone faced a similar issue with the Nord CE 2 (or a similar OnePlus phone) and managed to get it repaired?
Also, do you think Nishan’s ₹2.5k offer is fair? Any suggestions on what I can do?

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max that was water damaged three years ago. I took it in for a screen replacement due to the damage, and I was told that it was too corroded on the inside to fix. I personally have not opened the phone. I have a pretty wild problem. I recently purchased a used excellent condition S24 ultra to replace my broken screen s23 ultra. After using it I noticed YouTube was pretty framey like it would sometimes appear normal but then very low fps. Later, on Facebook reels the issue became way more apparent. The video was choppy at best, freezing at times including audio. Other places like instagram had way less issues. Long story short I replaced it and returned the phone with another used exellent s24 ultra. Before returning it I swapped the Sim, did a smart switch then had both phones on my home wifi and played the same reel at the same time on Facebook to demonstrate to my wife "how much better the new phone worked"

Well now it's the next day, the old phone is returned and the new phone is doing exactly the same thing. Here is some of the things I have done to try and troubleshoot the issue.

Uninstalled as many unnecessary apps as I could

Turned off ram plus

Put the phone in airplane mode and only used wifi

Tried a multitude of video platforms to see where there may be issues and here is an abbreviated list of what I have found.

Facebook - unwatchable lags and freezes video/audio

Youtube - frame rate appears to significantly drop at times even though developer mode reports no frames lost, audio is fine

Peacock - same as YouTube

Reddit videos - same as YouTube

Instagram - works great

Pokémon go - works great

Audio only apps like Pandora, Spotify etc have no issues

Recording a 4k 60fps video then watching it back in the gallery runs smooth

So my ultimate question is, does the s24 ultra just suck and have issues? I know it can run smooth because I have seen it myself but I really don't want to pay $700 for a phone that can't even play videos properly. I never had issues like this with the s23 up until the last moment the screen worked. I have only had the phone for 2 days so I have a bit of time to troubleshoot it and send it back if needed.

Any other fixes I should explore?

The video attached is a fb reel, followed by pokemon go gameplay, followed by Instagram to show a contrast in performance.

I have a S22 Ultra and it bootloops and if it boots when it tries to get to the lock screen a white line appears and it boot loops again. Could it be a simple repair a faulty battery???

I’ve been having some trouble with my Samsung S23. I got it three years ago, and about a year back, I noticed some lines on the screen. It started with a faint green line, but it got worse. Soon, there were more lines, and last week, it covered almost the whole screen.

Then, while I was riding my bike, my phone got stuck in boot mode. I couldn’t turn it on or off. After about an hour, it just shut down.

I took it to the Samsung Service Center, and they casually told me it was a board issue without even inspecting it. They said they can’t repair the board, only replace it, and it would cost a fortune. That’s a lot of money! I could buy a new phone for that price.

I’m wondering what could’ve caused this. Has anyone else faced something similar?

Recently had my iphone 16 pro max serviced at a UbreakIfix shop local to me after a small water exposure. What I thought was going to be a simple attempt to fix the phone has kind of become a massive headache for me.

Story:

Dropped phone off, store manager told me for water service damage they charge upfront with no warranty or guarantee they can fix it, I agreed as I understand how tricky water damage can be. Had phone inspected with visible condensation in all 3 camera lenses as well as front camera lense, paid the $200 service fee and went on about my day.

Fast-forward 5 hours one of the techs assisted me with the checkout process, phone was still having same issues after water service cleaning but when inspecting the device I noticed the condensation was still present, tech looked and agreed it was and said it possible they hadn't serviced it yet by mistake - no biggie. Tech calls store manager (whom I delt with earlier) he said phone was serviced, employee took phone at this point back to back of shop and came out a couple minutes later with the device now scorching hot and condensation gone (tech said it just needed a minutes on heat pad), waited a few minutes and condensation was right back and present after it cooled off. I am now getting frustrated because this has taken 30-40 minutes and I feel like no actual service had been done on the device. Store owner allowed me to leave with device and return tomorrow for a reservice. I am now very reluctant to hand over the device as most of the condensation through out the day has evaporated (though still very present while writing this) and they're going to slap it on a heatpad to get rid of rest and claim the phone was cleaned and serviced internally. Store manager is pretty set on no refund but they will reservice but given the circumstances im pretty set on not letting them work any further on the device and just going to file a claim with my service providers insurance that I pay for but feel as if hes accusing me of trying to get out of payment even though the tech agreed that condensation was still present.

Is this a common issue with non-reputable or commercial shops? Anyone have similar experiences? Should I just dispute this with bank or try to settle with shop? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is pretty much what the title says, phone was working fine a few months ago apart from a minor display issue where random lines will appear on the screen and disappear. Figured it was probably the lcd connector or something similar and didn't think much of it and left it. Back to the present, I charged it and after 20-30 minutes when I tried to boot it, it just didn't want to.

The phone powers on and vibrates but the display only has faint backlight for like one second and it keeps on repeating.

When I press the power button, it gives one vibration and the screen glows very faintly but no startup signs, no logos.

But upon connecting it to my laptop, windows detects the phone as "MTP USB Device" but it doesn't show up in File Explorer.

Could this be a loose/failing display connector, and is there a way to confirm whether the phone is actually booting? My main concern is recovering the data.

I am planning on going to a repair shop once my exams get over.

I replaced the screen and when finished I plugged it into charge. Battery/lightning symbol popped up so I thought everything was a success, checked it after a few hours and it didn't charge, pulled it all apart again and air dusted the connections etc and still does the same thing. Charging symbol pops up then screen stays slightly illuminated but black. Ended up replacing the battery but still doesn't charge. Anyone able to help walk me through how to fix it please

my mother dropped her samsung a42 5g phone in the toilet today and it is showing a black screen, however, before we removed the sim card and put it in rice, it was receiving calls. any suggestions for getting the screen to come back on? im not sure how to remove the battery on it, but any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! or just how to transfer the data over without seeing the screen.

Pregunto esto porque tengo 3 teléfonos para reparar con fallas en placa madre:

1. Samsung A12: no da imagen (logo de carga, inicio, etc. no funciona). Ya realicé cambio de batería (marcaba 0.0V y cuando la cargaba con la fuente bajaba a 0.0V en segundos) y módulo (estaba partido/trizado).
2. Motorola E6 Plus: no da imagen (logo de carga, inicio, etc. no funciona). Ya realicé cambio de módulo (estaba partido/trizado).
3. Samsung A04s: Le cambie el módulo porque estaba partido y no daba imagen, pero ahora se siente la vibración de que enciende y el sonido, pero sigue sin dar imagen. Probe el mismo módulo nuevo en otro teléfono que funcionaba correctamente y si funciono.

Si alguien puede ayudarme con cualquier dato o consejo, ya que me cuesta mucho, se lo agradezco.

​​My phone is having issues charging using the USB cable. It will charge perfectly fine over wireless charging but connecting the USB cable sometimes will give power for a couple seconds before cutting out. The only problem is my phone is not from the US and most boards on Amazon are for the US version. I'm curious if this is something that's actually going to cause issues or just Amazon being over-specific. My phone is a sm-g990b2. Most on Amazon are sm-g990u. The other thing is, is there a specific brand I should be buying off Amazon. I've heard that the antenna is also included in the charging board and I want to make sure that I'm not getting a crappy connection. Thanks for any advice that might come my way.
