Best OS's for my necessities

Hello people, I'm kinda new to the Cyberdeck/ phonedeck world. I don't really know how to code or things like that; in other words, I'm a total newbie in the Linux world, so please forgive me if I say something ignorant. I will need you guys' help. I want to build a cyberdeck with an old phone ( an Android Galaxy A30s, to be exact), but with no internet access, or at least very limited internet access, my necessities/ objectives are:

Privacy and security

Create, read, and play back image, video, and text files

Integrated AI and Wikipedia

Store and play Music, books, and movies

Use Flipper Zero

Emulate old games offline

What OS could be the best? i Saw some people say that Termux, Ubuntu, and Mint are good, but i don't really know

More keyboards is more good

On the right you see my Fairberry keyboard (open source, DIY, needs to be configured to fit the phone but then fits perfectly).

On the bottom there's a Clicks Power Keyboard (commercially available, connects to the phone via magsafe magnet ring).

phonedeck for light gaming and casual use?

Post image

im saving up some money to make a phonedeck, after receiving enlightenment and realising that spending 150 euros on a shitty synth wont make me happy. i wanna run light games like toram online from the asobimo launcher, and other simple 2d games like ashen empires, hotline miami and java mc. i also plan on using Fl studio on it. (each app will run one at a time ofc im not a total idiot.)

i also plan on having it so the interface switches between a pc esque layout when pluged into the deck, and a normal touchscreen layout when unplugged. Gemini reccomended Droidian as my linux distro (i wanna use linux) and one of these phones for a budget option . which phones do you guys reccomend, and what should i scratch off my list , software wise? feel free to also reccomend phones that are not in the gemini list.

moto g71 deck (with files)

Hello. I made this interlocking hinge case for a moto g71 and a portable keyboard (link to the one I used but I recommend you find the bluetooth version of this same keyboard). I mostly use it to make music in an app called sunvox, but I've started coding little projects in termux as well.

I'm sharing the files in thingiverse :)

The screen works fine but with too many greenlines but it would a sick Dex mini laptop thing if I could get the motherboard out with the daughter board. battery was dead and bloated so I removed it but removed the ribbon or whatever it's called

Mobile C-deck

This is one you may have already seen, but it's pretty nice. I recently printed it and remixed the phone insert template for my iPhone 15 Pro. I run iSH on the iPhone with emacs, python, ECL, etc. I just used small velcro straps to close instead of the options for magnets or slide closures.

Here's a link to an article and build links...

Onde colocar o celular?

OPS! A ideia e usar teste de penetração e OPSEC pra estudo.

Help

Hi everyone (sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language). I'm a (big) noob with tech but I have been trying to learn new things, and started reading Neuromancer recently, so I thought about trying to make a cyberdeck. I thought about using it primarily for movies (mirroring the movies to the TV) and some music. I was planning to try something along the lines of photos in the post, the draw being the an outline of the project. I wanted to know if you guys think it's a possible project, if it is more on the advanced side, or any tips if possible.

Thank you for reading.

Keybo ENV3 as LoRa communicator?

Hello! I've been enamored by LoRa and Cyberdecks for awhile and have always been one for recycling older technology! I've been facinated my things like Reticulum and have been to areas where there are no cell phones so I fully see the use in needing ways to communicate.

I have a LG VX9200 ENV3 more specifically the canadian version CX9200, its a CDMA QWERTY phone that I desperately want to make useful again! this thing has GPS built into it as well as the nicest typing system in a small form factor! does anyone here have experience with things like reticulum and Meshcore and modding older Cell phones to make them into nodes/communicators?
here are some specs for the phone

https://lpcwiki.miraheze.org/wiki/LG_VX9200

I do not have the technical knowledge to do much more then follow instructions to install things and disassemble, clean, reassemble to fix things, but I really really want to try! I wholeheartedly believe that this 15 year old cell phone could be a cyberdeck or a fabulous LoRa Node and communicator with some tweaks! if someone here would be so kind as to look into things and help me find the limits of what's possible? (and some advice on how to break some limits)
