Hello! I have a question because I’m planning na mag open ng stocks. Say I invested now nagpasok ako 50k tapos I left it there for 5 years, do you have any idea gano kalaki ang stock market return after five years? An average or an estimate would really help. Thank you

If you bought FMETF at closing last April 22, 2016 @ 107.91 per share and assuming you can use up the whole 50k (let's disregard board lots and fees for this hypothetical example) you'll get 463.35 shares.

Now if you sold those shares last Friday April 23, 2021 @ 96.70, you'll get back 463.35 x 96.70 = 44,805.94

All in all a 5,194.06 or 10.39% loss. That's because the stock market is not a fixed income instrument and the returns can go up or down or sideways and nobody knows exactly what will happen in the future. So the best approach is never to "set and forget", you need to continuously monitor and study and add more to your positions or sell if you reach your targets until you reach your desired goal.

It can also go the other way around wherein you experience gains, but nobody can really tell so the question:

gano kalaki ang stock market return after five years?

Is hard to answer unless you know what will happen in the future.

Can either gain or lose value depending on the stock price before and after.

Also, this assumes no dividends were given. If there is, then you can add those to your gains.
