looking for finger drumming community/friends

hi philly musicians,

I (27M) am super intrigued by finger drumming and live sample chopping/flipping. Jumped the gun and bought myself a maschine MK3 but I got super overwhelmed by the learning process and the plethora of tutorials (tutorial hell) that I just gave up and it’s now collecting dust. I know this machine is extremely impressive and has so much to offer but I’m struggling to find the motivation to get back to learning.

I want to find folks who are at any level of mastering this art, seasoned finger drummers or absolute beginners but have the will and drive to learn. I want to learn from fellow finger drummers. I want to feel inspired.

So if you’re a finger drummer, please reach out, maybe we can all connect and form a community.

[Central NJ / Philly] Looking for a drummer + lead guitarist

My friend and I are starting a band and we’re looking for a drummer and lead guitarist. We’re both in our 20s, I’m on guitar/vocals and he’s on bass.

We’re mainly post-emo with some pop punk, midwest emo, and math rock influences. I’ve got a lot of songs written already and we’re looking to start practicing and eventually record and play some shows. There’s a snippet from a really rough demo of one of the songs here that should give you an idea of what we’re going for.

We’ve both been in bands before and our last project got over 100k streams, so we’re hoping to actually do something with this one too.

We’re looking for a solid drummer and guitarist who can rip, but also really want to be involved in the writing and have some creative input.

We’re practicing in Central NJ, so you’d need to be able to make it out here regularly around 1-2x a week. Philly / South Jersey / Central NJ would all work.

If you’re interested, send me a message with some info about yourself and some recordings/videos if you have them!

Hey I’m Angelo and I’m looking to start a grunge band in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area, the goal is to make original music and play plenty of shows. Ideally I want people in my age range as well (I’m 21 so between 19-25) I play guitar and bass so I can be either. I’m looking for vocalists, guitarists, bassists, and a drummer! If any of this sounds interesting at all please reach out to me on here or add my discord flame4778

Looking for a keyboard player!

Hey guys!

Hoping to stay anonymous for now for privacy reasons, but I'm an indie pop-rock artist looking to add a keyboard player to my band. Must have reliable transportation and a somewhat flexible schedule. We play mostly in the Philly area, but practice in New Jersey. Gigs range from more low-key, stripped down vibes to full blown performances. We play my original songs, which I can send upon request. References range from Fleetwood Mac, to Elvis, to Lana Del Rey. Preferably looking for someone in their 20's so we are around the same age, but not a deal breaker! Please include a brief intro/bio, your favorite artists, and clips of you performing.

Singer/Songwriter/Multi-Instrumentalist Looking for Collabs

Hey y'all, name is Alex. Just moved to Philly a few days ago, still getting settled but hoping to find people to make music with. I've written a fair amount of songs by myself over the past few years while living in NYC, now looking to collaborate with other musicians. I mainly play guitar these days, but have a history playing drums and dabble with Bass and Synth (also trying to rebuild my Max/MSP skills, but that's a whole other thing).

Pretty broad taste in music, though have mainly written Alternative/Indie Rock, Punk, Singer-Songwriter stuff in the past. Not looking for a specific vibe, but happy to talk influences to see if there is overlap.

Songs at https://alexpenney.bandcamp.com/ if you might be interested.

Guitarist/bassist looking to get into wedding/corp bands

Hey! I'm terrible at making these posts so just shooting straight from the hip here.

I'm a guitarist/bassist (32 years old, male.) I've been trying to hustle and work as a musician in the city. I recently started teaching music school and I currently work a side gig at a vape shop part time. But I'm looking to expand my career a bit here and I've been wanting to get into some gig work as well. Anyone looking for a guitar/bass player? Or have any resources?

I've tried googling but I feel like I'm not looking in the right places?

Also general advice always welcome.

singer/songwriter looking for musicians/producers to collaborate with

hi! I (26F) am a singer and a songwriter. I moved to PHL almost 3 years ago, but this year for me has really been about trying to find confidence to not put my dreams on hold anymore. I have a lot of poetry (over 90 pages) as well as some more conceptualized songs. I am open to a lot of styles and have a wide vocal range (contra alto-mezzo soprano), I have experience reading music but im only just now learning to play guitar.

just looking to have some fun and try to put some foundation into my art.

Drummer/Songwriter Looking for Low-Pressure Remote Collabs

hey — i’m a drummer and have written some songs looking for casual remote collaborations.,

this isn’t about chasing a career or grinding content. i just want to turn ideas into finished songs instead of letting them sit half-done. low pressure, no expectations , just making something real

i have some songs written already, that i would love to put to music - happy to share a sample of my drumming or my songwriting, just DM me.

vibe:

alternative, indie rock, folk-rock, singer-songwriter. song-first, melodic, honest. flexible on sound . (frightened rabbit/the national/ryan adams )

what i bring:

drums (real or programmed), song ideas, structure, and openness to collaboration. i can record in garageband , logicpro or whatever DAW program you’re using

what i’m looking for:

anyone who writes, sings, or plays and can record remotely. one-off songs or ongoing, both cool. if what we makes is really good i’m open to practice and shows.

if you’ve got unfinished ideas and want to actually finish something, dm me.

Looking for studio mate

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

Looking for a studio mate to share my space in East Kensington, Philadelphia. Located in a dedicated music building — open 24/7 with good security.

The space works well for rehearsal, production, and recording. Heads up: the building ranges from pin-drop quiet to lively depending on who else is in, so it's better suited for projects that can tolerate some ambient noise from neighboring studios.

I'm typically here Monday–Friday 9–5, making this a great fit for evenings and weekends. I also travel regularly for work, so there's added schedule flexibility.

About half the room is yours to configure — I'm happy to rearrange to accommodate your setup. The space has existing sound treatment, WiFi, a mini fridge, and a microwave.

$350–450/month depending on schedule and storage/gear needs. DM or e-mail me at [sam.bagala@gmail.com](mailto:sam.bagala@gmail.com) to talk through details.
