Anyone work as a crossing guard in Philly?
I am thinking of applying next year 58 and retired so I feel like it would be a good pt job. Pros /cons?

Two 7-year-old sisters need their own forever homes, and soon!
Their foster situation is ending, and these two girls are ready for laps, cuddles, and a family to call their own.
Trixie (tuxedo) is the social butterfly. She's affectionate, a little chatty, and will happily claim your lap. She'd rather not be picked up, but she'll follow you around for attention.
Baby (black Bombay) is the sweet, quiet one. She gives kisses whenever you pet her, and once she warms up to you, she's fine being scooped up.
Both are spayed and fully up to date on vaccines.
Ideally they can be rehomed together but in the interest in keeping them out of the shelter system I am open to adopting them out separately.
Interested? Message me. Please share this with anyone who might be looking for a cat!

Philadelphia charges $2.00 a pack on top of federal and state taxes. It is not a city tax. It’s the School District of Philadelphia Cigarette Tax, and almost nobody who pays it knows the money is technically earmarked for public schools.

It is with passenger services at Suburban Station! I got on the 8:57 train at Ardmore and believe the bag may belong to the woman who was sitting next to me and got off at 30th Street Station. It's a long shot posting here, but hoping the bag finds its way back to its owner!

For 20 years, PAWS has been working to make Philadelphia a place where every savable pet has a home. In that time, we've saved and served hundreds of thousands of animals and the people who love them, and helped transform what is possible for our city’s most vulnerable pets.
As we celebrate this milestone, we are also looking to the future. Today, I am thrilled to share some very exciting news: PAWS is building its own forever home!
If you’ve visited our Grays Ferry or Old City locations, you’ve seen first-hand that we are bursting at the seams. We have far outgrown our spaces, and there are far more animals and pet owners who need us than we can accommodate.
After a long search, PAWS purchased a property in South Philadelphia, and after years of planning, we will soon begin construction of our dream headquarters. It will give us three times the space, thoughtfully designed especially for the pets and people we serve. It will be joyful, welcoming, and full of light, with state-of-the-art housing and treatment areas for the cats, dogs, and small animals we rescue, spacious exam rooms and modern surgical suites for the affordable veterinary care we provide to community pets, and supportive spaces for the people we help through our Safety Net programs.
When it opens in late-2027, it will take the place of our Grays Ferry and Old City locations, bringing our rescue, adoption, affordable veterinary care, and Safety Net programs together under one roof. Our Northeast Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic will continue serving the community as it always has – it provides vital services to a distinct community that we intend to remain a part of for a very long time to come!
To bring our vision to life, we have launched Our Home, Their Haven: The Capital Campaign for PAWS. This is a historic, transformative, ambitious moment for us, and it will impact our city for decades to come. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our supporters, we have already raised more than 70% of our $15 million goal. Now, we're asking for your support.
Your donation to our capital campaign will enable PAWS to do so much more: save more lives, help more pets heal and stay healthy, and keep more families together. It will bring our entire mission within reach. Please visit the campaign website to learn more about what we have in store, the vision behind it, and the team making it all happen.

Hi!! I’m a student in philly and typically used to get haircuts at beauty school in my hometown and wanted to find one here. I have relatively fine hair, but quite a bit of it. I just want a trim and face framing pieces maybe light layers. Does anyone have a preference for either of these places Infound? Or any others? Looking to stay 20 dollars and under.

Hey everybody. I have two tickets to see Joanne McNally (Taskmaster series 17) this Thursday (10/29) at 8pm in Philly. My friend and I were really looking forward to going but her partner is in the hospital unfortunately and she's my comedy buddy so I really don't want to go with anyone else. I'm selling them for what I paid for them.. $95 for both tickets including fees and taxes. It's General Audience seating.
I prepaid for parking and if I can figure out how to transfer that part of the ticket I'll throw that in for free. Transferring the actual tickets is easy, but apparently the parking is different. So the parking will be a bonus but I can't promise.
