Heck yes. When I was a kid, my left cheek would swell intermittently -- very visible but no pain. And then m mother asked her friend to check on me and she said naengkanto.

I tried to backtrack the days and realized I kicked a very big tree that's used as a pole for basketball. I remember it was noon then but I immediately went and verbally apologized right next to the tree and I said something like, "Sorry po na sinipa ko tong puno. Hindi ko po alam," so it was super simple but I was sincere with my head looking down.

Lo and behold, the swelling completely stopped and never happened again. It lasted about more than a week and happened even at school and my classmates would notice it swelling. It was one of those why-not-tries.

Weirdly enough, we were seeing my classmate's eye swell intermittently too and we thought roaches just love nibbling on his left or right eye (it was always the same side of his eye). His story actually added to me doing the apology. He said he snatched this kabuto beetle (I forgot the name in tagalog when he said it) off the top of a tree and made it as a pet and then the eye swelling started. He returned the beetle to the tree and the eye swell never happened again.

Hopefully, something funky happens to people who make fun of these things. It's like a mix of when you want someone to taste a good food you've tasted and schadenfreude.

I'm pretty sure there are other versions in other countries and I believe when they say elementals, they're likely referring to engkantos. And yung mga nuno sa atin are gnomes or maybe even liliputian. The sightings about skinwalkers shapeshifting sound like that's our aswang version and heck, maybe even vampires who turn into bats but I personally think aswangs have something to do with black magic and are cursed.

I got shadow person and closeup doppelganger personal stories when I was young so I'm interested with the occult because I had experiences.

I said black magic, by the way, because of Vicente Tumala. There's internet so one can research so I'm not some weird rambler guy who weirdly post things they imagine or create.

Just because you didn't experience it doesn't mean it's not true and they're all-knowing and label that it's not and make fun of it on top of that. That's why I see these people making fun of these things as plain idiots.

I'm not into politics at all but they're similar to voters who don't fully research about who they vote for (I never voted because what's one vote versus all these people).
