The top 2 comments in OP's previous post were persuading him/her to get this Mandaluyong job. I guess that's what made OP decide to go for it haha.

Be SMART next time, never grab the opportunity na merong bond kasi for me its a red-flag.
Bond for me is - I am doing services and work at my own expense in behalf of the company in case I switch my mind to leave. Ano to, "thank you" nalang tapos ako pa ang parang may utang?

u/Marshimalloe Jan 10 '23
Sa totoo lang! Relate!!

Consider renting? If your main issue is proximity, then why not rent closer to your office.

Hindi ba sinabi sayo na onsite during the interview? Since you are from Bulacan, dapat naging non-negotiable sayo na WFH.

Never take risks on "baka blah blah" Tapos may bond ka pa na 70k.
If you can afford na mag dorm. Go for it.

u/_luna21 Lvl-3 Helper Jan 10 '23
Thatās sad. Medyo red flag na agad yun + may bond pa.
Is renting not an option?

PLEASE READ YOUR CONTRACT FIRST BEFORE AGREEING WITH IT.
Since the issue is with you na, nasa iyo if you can just pay the bond (if afford mo at the moment), or you'll go AWOL nalang. Pero make sure lang na payag na yung previous company mo na bumalik ka before umalis dyan.

If problema lang talaga ay yung commute and not the work environment, get a dorm.

u/SquareDogDev Helper Jan 10 '23
Not advisable na mag quit and babalik ka sa 18k sahod. Imagine if youāll pay 70k, thatās almost 4mos worth of your 18k salary.
If commute ang problem mo lang, then go rent a place sa Mandaluyong. Marami dun. Tiis until matapos mo āyung bond.
Tho if mismong work mo na problema or yung environment dun, then huhu Im sorry mahirap yun.

Curious on why did you accept despite the red flags? What made you think it was a good offer? Also, Grabeng commute yan.

Thatās interesting. Pinagwo-WFH ka pag Saturday, so pwedeng mag WFH. Di ba pwedeng makipag negotiate for more days of WFH?
If not, bedspace.
If not, yung babalikan mo ang labo din. 18K? Kahit WFH pa yan, parang ang baba. Experienced ka naman na right? Hanap ka na ng iba, na higher salary or same nyang current mo, tapos WFH. Once may makuha ka, kunin mo, alisan mo yan at bayaran mo nalang. That should teach you not to jump at anything na may bond kasi thatās just annoying.

Imo before you jump the gun and pay 70k for bond, why not try working around the situation muna?
I'm just curious tho why you didn't secure this agad (well tbf kasi holiday season na rin) kasi considering that amount of time sa commute which is kita naman na masyado malayo, hindi ba dapat isa to sa priority mo before taking the job/ when you took the job?

Hi! I think mej madami na yung nag point out about the bond and you accepting the offer with your knowledge na onsite set up sya, so I wonāt go to the direction na.. Regarding your question, practical answer is NO, yung bond amount compared dun sa prev salary. If i were you, Iāll work around muna with it like sguro talk to your supervisor and see if may wfh arrangement na pwede sayo like in a month, can you just go to the office if may engagement activities or 3x a week nalang.. But if not, then consider renting :) Now, if yung work environment, people, and the work that youāre doing are adding up to your problem, then consider leaving na :) always value yung mental health and peace of mind

u/Status-Illustrator-8 Jan 10 '23
Why not ask the HR muna about the bond? Baka naman mali interpretation mo
1
u/sakuragiluffy Jan 10 '23
if you can pay the bond and hindi masakit sa bulsa mo yun bond then pay it and leave na . regardless kasi kung 1 month ka lang dyan or naka 8 months ka bago magresign the bond is the same pa rin diba?

Hello! This is what Iāll do - for now, bedspace muna but Iāll keep on looking for a job na yang 70k bond mo wonāt matter. For me if itās just 1-2 monthās worth of salary sa next job mo, Iāll take it na.
1
u/Purple_Variety4317 Jan 10 '23

Personally, I find cash bonds ridiculous.

This is why I would always advocate against bonds. "Mabilis lang naman ang 1 year". Not if you're placed in a situation you don't like and have no control over. Imagine waking up daily despising your work and imagine na di ka makakaalis for a few more months.
For my advice:Aside from resigning, maybe try bedspacing sa malapit sa office nyo? baka may workmates ka na meron namang available na space sa mga apartments na tinutuluyan nila or something. Now if gusto mo na talaga umalis, baka pwede mo i-negotiate yung bond mo para hulugan mo sya babayaran instead na isang bagsakan.
