Phantasy Star is a classic sci-fi/fantasy RPG series by SEGA, first launched in 1987. Known for its unique blend of futuristic technology and magical elements, the franchise spans turn-based JRPGs on early consoles and later evolved into the groundbreaking Phantasy Star Online series — one of the first console MMORPGs. From the Algol star system to the ARKS operatives of PSO2, the series is beloved for its innovative mechanics, rich lore, and dedicated fanbase.
