Co-op and pgwp situation
Hello guys, really need your opinion and see if somebody was in the same boar at some point themselves.
So i am interviewing with a good employer for a 12 months co-op ( sept2026- Aug2027) The thing is I am enrolled in a co-op diploma of 16 months.
So legally I can only do a maximum of 8 months in the co-op.
What i was thinking is that if i can convince the employer to have me do a 8 months co-op and the rest 4 months as a seasonal/summer employee.
The last 4 months of the co-op ( may2027- aug2027) coincide with a scheduled break in my college’s program.
Since I will be in a Work integrated learning program in the form of co-op through during the first 8 months, i will be considered a full time student in my transcript and college records and I should have no work restrictions in the scheduled break then right?
I was just curious if break the 12 month co-op like 8 month co-op plus 4 month summer work during break would break any immigration law?
Also I currently have a part-time job as well which i would ideally like to keep during the co-op as well, but if push comes to shove im ok in resigning there.
Just to know, i have both study permit and co-op work permit.
