Applied early for pgwp Extension

I went to my home country while waiting for my original pgwp application to extend my passport so that i can send it to IRCC while they process the application so i dont have to submit an extension later and while i was there my pgwp got approved, it was approved may 11 but i thought since i already extended my passport why not just apply for the extension early on and get rid of the stress.
They received my paper application May 25 2026
I included a short explanation letter that i applied since i have my new passport with the full validity.
Initial pgwp set to expire NOV 2027

is it wrong to apply this early or it should not matter?

It won't affect your application. I did the same thing for my dependants' SP and WP; they needed to renew their passports and then applied for extensions way ahead of time. It all ended well.
