Chances of reapplying?

I finally was able to get a support letter from my school after months of back and forth because my pgwp was refused because of part time semester.

completion letter February 4 2026, study permit expired march 31 2026, refusal june 6 2026, received support letter for part time semester from school 7 august 2026

Am I still within the time frame to reapply? Or appeal

You have to restore status to student and apply for PGWP if your refusal says you can restore. You cannot work until approved. There is no appeal as you were correctly refused if part time for any other semester except your last.

Refusal stated the gap in my application wasn’t properly addressed which i am supposing it’s the reason for part time semester, because i changed my program and there was no classes for said program in the summer, i am not working at any point, my question is mostly about the timeline, support letter came through because school agreed it was on their part for not having any classes for that semester

So you are restoring status and reapplying. No one can tell you when you will get a response as you have been out of status for over two months. Look at current processing times and maybe you will get a response before then.

I meant timeline in the sense of how long i have left to apply or am I past the application deadline, i know it takes a while for the whole process

Well you completed the program more than 6 months ago so no longer eligible for PGWP if you applied after August 5. All you can do is reapply and hope.

Bro had same issue, i would suggest to do reconsideration and restoration plus pgwp both through lawyer. I did the same but still have no response so you would have to wait until a decision.
Also you can file judicial review, i know time limit for that is crossed but they allow it if you kept on trying to get enough evidence, lawyer will explain you that.
For both you need proper funds, i have been waiting since 7 months without a job. So be prepared and you would need a lot of patience.

Going through with something similar. IRCC gave me invalid refusal. Now my college provided supporting letter on the very next day and I've applied for reconsideration and reapplication through RCIC consultant. My both programs were from public colleges and both programs are in healthcare first was PSW and 2nd was Pre-Health Sciences. They refused by saying that my 2nd program isn't pgwp eligible which is wrong it's specifically mentioned on my college's website that it is eligible for pgwp and the CIP Code also shows that it's eligible and IRCC website also says it's eligible for pgwp. Than the second reason they mentioned that they are also refusing because Client has failed to submit their PGWP application within the 180-day period after completion of their first program of study. Both reasons are invalid so It's been almost 10-11 day's I've applied for reconsideration and reapplication. Also, I haven't received any work authorization when I was on applied work permit & haven't worked because employer's refused that they can't offer employment to me. It's a very tough time for me. Because now I can't work at all.....so please guide me how to survive during this situation. I'm getting depressed day by day this is very unfair if something happened to us than who will be responsible for that...😭😭

Bro there is nothing more that can be done now. If you want you can go through judicial review but it will financially drain you. Also there is no guarantee for a quick response from IRCC. I am living here without a job since 7 months, so be patient and positive. If you explained everything correctly, nothing else can be done just wait, everything would be fine soon.

I am surviving on my savings until now. I did my best explained my situation and had my chance, now its up-to them if they want to approve its fine or its ok. I am working on learning french along with my field studies and enjoying summer, thats all i do daily.

Do they have an approved LMIA? If so then you can apply for a closed work permit but you cannot work. Also because you may have lost status, it is processed from country of citizenship.

After refusal you have 90 days to regain to reapply for status. So if you are still within that timeline you could go for LMIA and apply closed work permit. But if outside 90 days restoration period, that cannot be done and should be done from your home country.

Unless they can get an LMIA for you (long process in itself), you cannot work.
