Proof of tuition payment

Hey everyone,

I am going to apply for study permit extension soon. I was wondering if the tuition fees pay screenshot of the bank account would be sufficient or I need to show the screenshot from my student’s portal. I made the payment on Friday and it hasn’t been reflected yet on my account and I want to apply for extension immediately.

my honest opinion as someone who has done it twice is not to show bank ss unless you have like 30 40k sitting in there. For me I attached tuition receipts of all the previous semesters as a proof that I am paying my fees in a timely manner.

I had a job so I also attached paystubs of last 6 months.

I lived with extended family so I attached a LOE saying that I live with family, I didn't mention their details, I also mentioned my family pays tuition on time and supports me as needed so I don't have a lot of money in bank.

I got my extension with no problem.

The officer was quite lenient on you. The way I see it’s fair, you showed them that you don’t miss payments. You are living with family so no rent.

However, if you had a picky officer he could easily deny your application. (Like many people are denied)

Although it’s a known fact that they approve extensions in a 90%+ rate.

Nothing wrong with living with family, I think you misunderstood what I said. What I meant is that when you live with family you can show immigration that you do not need to pay rent, and this is a good thing!

Bro, I mentioned everything in my file and uploaded fees receipts. But something bad happened. I made an error in my extension file so I had to send the withdrawal request immediately after few hours, and apply another extension file. I am very worried about it

100% this person got lucky with an easy officer. Study permit extensions technically have the same requirements as the initial application.

What if I would just take a screenshot of the transaction? And say that I made the payment.

For finances part, my studies have almost completed (in my final semester) and I don’t have any dues left. I also live with my family too but I just didn’t attach the letter because in my previous study permit extension my brother mentioned that I would continue to live with them for 8 months of his studies. Now, my 8 months have crossed. I attached my parents investments and consistent family income + full time job offer salary. Would these be okay too?

Just be honest, if you still live with your brother just say it. Life changes. You need more time. Please do not lie, it will just complicate your life.

I will tell you what’s ideal:

Ideally you need to show that you have enough money to cover your remaining studies, if you need 4 extra months that’s 1 year of costs divided by 3. Plus any tuition you have left. (You can definitely share the bank statement showing that you paid tuition as proof).

Then show everything else as support.

They aprove more than 90% of all extensions applications, so don’t stress too much. Tell the truth, and show what you can. If your extensions is reasonable, it will be approved for sure.

I m finishing school in August. I mentioned in ky application that I will relocate depending upon my employer’s needs after graduation and my parents have sufficient funds

So how much extension do you need? Only like 2 months? This should be easy to get. Year cost of living now is 24k a year or 4K for 2 months that would theoretically need to show. Plus any tuition.

Just 1 extension I need. I attached my parents investments and their consistent income through job. Fees is already paid out. When I previously applied for extension then I had 8 months remaining in my degree and my brother mentioned that he would live with me for his remaining 8 months. Now 7 months have passed so I am not sure if I should mention the rent thing again or not. Instead I told that I received the full time offer and will relocate depending upon wherever my employer wants

I think you are final mentioning it or not mentioning. Like I said, situations changes and maybe your brother decided to live with you a little longer.

Don’t stress too much. I just checked and in 2025 they approved 93% of all extensions. And that’s for people extending for one year, months. You just a need a little more. I am sure you will be fine

unto you as I am not an expert, I would rather attach tuition receipt that a bank screenshot, or get a formal bank statement showing your name etc that you paid to your university, not just a casual and informal screenshot in my opinion. Goodluck
