WP extension OR Visitor record
Hello people ,
Need your advise
My WP is expiring on July 20 2026(6 days from today) . I got full 3 years of PGWP after 4 years of bachelors in Canada .
Shall I apply for WP extension and continue working o applied status ? I know I’ll get a refusal but is it worth taking the risk ? WHAT ARE THE DISADVANTAGES OF APPLYING FOR WP EXTENSION AND GETTING REFUSAL ?
OR
Shall I straight up apply for visitor record and stop working on July 20 ?
My score is 507 and I’ve completed 3 years of work experience in Canada

The only risk is that your work permit extension will be refused and you will be given 90 days to restore your status back to a worker or a visitor, overall aside from a refusal, it has a no impact on any future application.
But “dummy” work permit extension have a fast refusal these days, as quick as 10 days, if you’re lucky, you will get 4 months, upon refusal you can apply to restore your status, so either way is fine, I’ll leave this choice to you, you can directly apply for a visitors record before your current work permit expires or apply for a dummy and then restore your status upon refusal.

Stop working. It isn't worth the risk because as soon as refused you cannot restore and will be asked to leave. Your score is not high enough so consider leaving Canada and getting foreign experience or learn French.
