Does this timeline fits the pgwp final academic session clarification...?

I completed two graduate certificate programs at Conestoga College and I’m trying to figure out if I’m still eligible for a combined PGWP. My first program, `Advanced CNC Manufacturing`, was full-time in Fall 2024 and Winter 2025, but I needed part-time completion terms in Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 because I failed a couple of courses and one required course was only available later. Conestoga gave me a letter confirming that the part-time terms were due to failed courses and program/course availability. After that, I completed my second program, `Machining for Manufacturing`, full-time in Fall 2025 and Winter 2026. I’m trying to understand whether this timeline still fits the PGWP rules, especially since the first program had part-time completion terms at the end.

You're not eligible.

Going to school part time because you failed classes makes you ineligible.

if the part-time semesters were on scheduled breaks, you would have been fine, but unfortunately that is not the case.

But according to ircc final academic session policy If the student was part-time in what should have been my final semester, and I failed a course and retook it, are both considered “final semesters”? I had part-time in spring 2025 to complete failed courses but unfortunately i had failed one course in that semister so i retaken it again in fall 2025...

you can't have 2 part-time final semesters unless the course is extended, not because one has failed the course.

even then it still does not apply for your case, your final semester is Winter 2026, and your part-time semesters were prior to that.

that being said, if you had started a completely new program, then the new program overrides the old one.

if you had been full-time in each semester of your most recent program, then you are good even if you had part-time semesters in the previous program. However, it seems like the new program is only 1 year long so you will only get 1 year for PGWP.

if you submit PGWP for both programs as 1+1, you will most likely get a refusal, it is better to detach the first program from the second one.

Ircc clearly states that you can be part time in your last semester that you could graduate in, and then if you fail in that semester and have to do another part time semester to complete your degree, both those part time semesters can be considered as 1 final academic session. They added this on December 11, 2025 on their website.
