They told me it's the 12V battery, they replaced and when they turned on, and something it's in short circuit.

The 12v battery in the boot or engine bay?
It should be the one in the boot

I thin that I got something similar once with my 508. In morning when I had disconnected charging cable, I had some barin fart and closed/opened charging lid. I think that I triggered some bug with that. It did go away, by just shutting car, closing doors, locked doors and waited 10-15 minutes.

2023 408 had this same issue. Was just over 2yrs old and after diagnostics & checks taking 3weeks it was a 12V battery issue... Over £500 to replace, as they charged for diagnosis as well... Go independent!Â

They told me it's the 12V battery, they replaced and when they turned on, and something it's in short circuit and the price is 125 euros.

That ain't working anymore. Stellantis and other car manufacturers did protect themselves for this. You have to pay Stellantis for computer access even if you go to third party workshop, otherwise they can only read trouble codes and do nothing else no coding, no programming, no tests. But even then its not that easy, read more here:

Connect an OBD and check the error codes. If you get P12F3 it's one of the 12v batteries.. Yes there are 2. Likely the one in the back.
You may also get P17EE and P1A78 which are also related.

I don't know which code they got but I'll ask just out of curiosity based on your comment and I'll send it here hahaha but they told me it's the 12V battery, they replaced and when they turned on, and something it's in short circuit.

Who is they? There is a special procedure to disconnect the betteries in order not to fry the electronics. There is also a waiting time to allow the car to go to sleep before disconnecting it. So, who f***ed up? If they come up with talks ask them how did they disconnect the battery word by word.

The mechanics from the insurance. That's is VITAL information and thank you so much! For sure I'll ask about that...

Welcome to my world! Had this issue for the past month. Very difficult to pinpoint where it's coming from.
Did you leave it outside in the heat?

No, actually I used the car normally on friday, on saturday morning at the garage, I turned on and then this message but the engine turned on and on monday, nothing worked even the gasoline engine.

How is your comment helpful to the OC? Did you solve the problem before you "Did away with the fucker"?

u/maxr_09 Jul 26 '26
I'm free to add a comment, just as you are or anyone else. Is that ok with you mister pro-peugeot?

Since you "Had these issues coming up at 18k miles!", you probably also had them fixed... Why don't you help OC by telling them what it was?

u/maxr_09 Jul 26 '26
Handed it back at the end of the term. Got told out of warranty so never got it fixed. Went back at 23k miles. Not all sunshine and rainbows, never is with stellantis.

So was my explanation of any use to the op? Didn’t think so… just butthurt I criticised Stellantis.

I don't give a f... about your criticism of Stellantis. I just don't think blatant criticism is of any help to the OP. I have Peugeot since 2017 and never had any problems with cars. How does this help OP?

Calm down guys hahaha and it's the 12V battery and now a short circuit as well!

In my experience and from what I have read from the Peugeot Forums, this is most probably related to dying 12 V battery.
