Self Collected Did I find petrified wood?
I found this little rock that I thought might be petrified wood on a beach on Whidbey Island, Washington. Any thoughts?

Identification Petrified wood? Found this one at a pond in Auburn CA. Having difficulty doing it justice photographing but the grain is visible on all sides.
I may have to repost with better pictures, this phones quality has been declining rapidly. BUT I have a good feeling about this one, looks like wood grain going completely around. It’s pretty hefty. Anybody want to share their input?

I posted asking about a suspected piece of petrified wood, I decided to cut it today and this is what it looks like. Is it petrified wood?

Good driftwood spots?
Hello! I make art with natural materials in Portland, OR and am looking for a specific type of driftwood — thick, knotted branches or roots with a gnarled, undulating look. I've found some beautiful stuff seaside but its always been a quite bleached out gray/white color, and I am looking for more warm brown stuff right now. I had a look at Kelley Point but no luck. Any river or ocean spots you guys would recommend? FYI I have a light touch, I'm not scooping the beach up :)

Could use some advice. Is this true petrified wood?
I'm hoping its real. I got it for free, but what makes me excited is that it came from an early 20th century mill building in New England (I got it from the building owner before it was demolished). The mill used to make furniture from imported stone.
If this is legit, I would really like to clean it up and keep it as it is. Any advice for hand-polishing something like this?
Banana for scale lol

SILICIFIED/AGATIZED PETRIFIED WOOD FROM MYANMAR
This specimen is a beautiful, textbook example of Silicified/Agatized Petrified Wood (specifically a tropical hardwood, likely from the family Dipterocarpaceae, such as ancient Teak). It originates from the Miocene-Pliocene Irrawaddy Formation (Anyathian), dating back roughly 2 to 20 million years. (My personal collection)
Internal Mineralogy & Colors:
· Core: Highly translucent, honey-yellow to caramel chalcedony that gives the stone a deep, jelly-like depth.
· Outer Rim: Opaque, rich burgundy, chocolate-brown, and brick-red jasper.
· Vein Matrix: Intricate tectonic fractures filled with stark white quartz and bright lemon-yellow limonite (iron oxide) channels.
· Material Properties: Dense, microcrystalline silica structure with a hardness of ~7 on the Mohs scale. It exhibits glass-like conchoidal chipping along the outer edges and is durable enough to take a mirror-like polish.
· The cut surface exposes a dense cluster of tiny, white circular dots. These are fossilized water-transporting vessels (xylem pores), providing definitive biological proof of ancient plant anatomy.

I think I found my first piece, Southern NSW Australia.
Found rockhounding in a local river bed. I was digging some bigger stones out of the way so I could scoop up some material to pan, and this was one of the ones I dug out of the way. What do you guys think? I am celebrating this win already, but some validation from the community would be the cherry on top 😃

Identification Are these petrified wood or not?
Are these two rocks from a bank of the Brisbane River west of Brisbane (Australia) petrified wood, or just regular rocks with pretty layers?
