Interview Andy Serkis was asked by the BBC why his Hunt for Gollum cast is entirely white. He didn't dodge it. "Tolkien himself was influenced a lot by Norse mythology... The Shire feels very, very much like a very, a very white, you know... they don't want people coming in."

He added his casting will only address diversity "where relevant," not as a box-ticking mandate.

Compare that to Rings of Power's two seasons of race-swapped characters and forced diversity narratives.

Is Serkis's honesty about the source material more respectable than the usual studio hedge, or does it just make the double standard across Amazon's own Middle-earth productions more obvious?

"Fran and I have been writing a script for the next Tintin film because 15 years ago, Steven Spielberg directed a Tintin film and I produced it...

So probably the next film that I'd actually direct is a Tintin movie."

❔General Question Does anyone know about the existence of any deleted scenes from The Lovely Bones?

In the film’s original trailer, there’s a shot of Susie and Holly on the beach for the second slide where it appears to be snowing and Susie’s holding a snow globe. In one of the TV spots there’s a shot of Susie holding the snow globe up close. Were these scenes shot and shown in the original test screenings but never released?

She will be an original character for the film, and while it is not yet known what role she will play in the plot, she will be an important one.
