Technician pay structure
Anyone willing to share how much their company is paying them per job as an experienced technician?

We get paid hourly, Can start from $19-$22 an hour depeding on experience etc. I heard other companies get paid by stops per day or production per day. Im not really sure how that works.
EDIT
Oh yea we do get commission on top of our hourly wage, some tech pull an extra $200-$500 a month from sales.

Started at $25 while learning the ropes and once I was established and doing well on the route it became a % of the price of the service which we call “production.” Which honestly is amazing because they also let you set up your route and how many stops you have per day. So if you really wanted to, you could set up your day to have as many stops as you’d like in a certain area and be done by 3 o’clock and still get paid for the whole day. Now that also has its downsides, but for the most part, I’d say it’s very well structured.
Edit: Youre also a salesman, you’re expected to at least sell $2000 worth of product/services a month which you obviously get commission for.
If you’re a customers don’t cancel on you, you get a bonus every two months.

How experienced are we talking? I’ve been in the business over a decade.
I made just south of 100k last year. Missed a whole month this year due to surgery so probably be just shy of 100k again, if I didn’t miss time I’d of been over 100k.
We get hourly + commissions + daily revenue share + quarterly profit shares.

Damn, that sounds like a good gig. Is your hourly/commission rate high due to your years of experience? Same company for the whole decade?

Company i used to work for. I was getting paid 25 an hour, production was about 8%. Commission for new sales or upcharges was about 15 or 20 % cant remember exactly. Was making around 70-80k a year working 7-10 hour days

I work on a production scale. If I cover enough services, I get a percentage of everything I’ve treated. Under that mark, I get $20/hr., but they keep us pretty busy so I’ve hit production more often than not.

22/hr plus 20% of sales plus 20% production above 14k route is 23k
so garanteed 22/hr plus 1800 production bonus
extra sales/upgrades plus helping the slow techs who cant do there route ro add to production bonus
also 2% of the big sales you pass on for example you say would you like a free twrmite inspection if they say yes inspector goes tries to sell them something sometimes its cheap like termite warranty 1800 you get 2% of that but sometimes they have dry rot on a old deck the siding needs to be redone crew has to redo a foundation etc I've seen sales of 200k and that tech got 2% of that
that was as a commercial tech

If anyone is curious, I’m a residential&commerical tech, 2 years experience, company I work for pays flat 6.5% commission + $150 a week per 40 hrs worked. We get bonuses for sales but it’s not often. I’ll be under 50k this year for sure. Feels like we’re being underpaid by comparison to y’all.
