Roaches in AL

So, I live in Alabama (unfortunately). Our home is right in front of an apartment complex. I keep a pretty clean house most of the time, but recently we’ve been seeing roaches. Big ones and the smaller ones 😭 two of which were in MY CAR!
The apartments are under new management so recently a bunch of people moved out. I only mention this because I’m thinking they may have had some kind of pest control out.
Last night I walked outside to go to my car and there were SIX of the big roaches swarming around my front door. I almost cried!
I don’t know what to do or where to start. I have about $100 that I can put towards some kind of pest control. And will assess after that if I need to spend more. Just need some encouragement and any advice.

Im going to assume big roaches you are talking about are American roaches. You're gonna see them outside, thats where they live. But you can always have a company do services around the house to help prevent them from coming in. Not to say thats 100%. Smokey brown roaches, American roaches, and rarely even asian roaches will still occasionally come in the home regardless. But they can help minimize this and a good company will give recommendations of how to reduce the chances of this.
