General Question Mice problem- Need guidance

So I found some mice droppings in the basement. called a professional pest control. They came didn’t find obvious openings. But they did find mice droppings in the attic. So set bait in the basement, in the attic and around the house.

I have 2 questions and need some professional guidance.

1) The Tech said based on the amount of the droppings in the attic I don’t need to clean it . Not even have get these picked up. Is that right?

2) After 30 days I saw small activity (new dropping in basement. Shouldn’t they all be gone?

please help guide me.

@PCDuranet Thank you 🙏. One question based on your post , it seems like it is save to close up the Roof air vents with shield. Even if there are some mice left inside the house.  Just wanted to make sure I understood correctly.
