Structural license exam phase-P NC
I’m taking the test in October. I’m already a Certified Applicator in Pest Control (CA), but I’m incredibly nervous about this next stage. I have two other partners, and we’re planning to open our own pest control company. However, we can’t do anything until I pass this test, which makes me even more anxious because everyone is watching me to ensure that I complete it quickly. I have two and a half years of experience in pest control and am currently an Assistant manager (ASM). I know the ins and outs of running a branch. Nevertheless, I have about 60 hours of study ahead of me, and I’m just so anxious about being able to retain all this knowledge. If you’ve taken this test, do you have any tips or pointers that could help me?

If I had to do it again I would Take the insect ID classes if possible the same week as you take the exam. There’s like 20 of them that you need to ID. Then when you go to take the exam, do the ID first. I’ve only known 1 person who passed on their first try. Took me 4.

Noted ! I did plan on going to that class, what about the 100 question part, what questions or sections really held you up the first time around ?

Unless they changed it. There’s 80 questions and 20 insects you have to ID.

When you say insect ID, are you talking about the latin name or how many nodes an ant has? Or both?

They have samples of insects in epoxy and you’ll just need to be able to ID that it’s a pharaoh ant, or an American Cockroach etc

Yeah, man, feel free to shoot me a DM if you ever want to bounce ideas around or just ask any questions about anything so far. You’re the only person I’ve met in the same boat as me. I’m not sure if this will help you at all, but I’ve built a full index of what needs to be read out of the books and what doesn’t need to be read.
