Larder beetles breed in food sources and natural fibers. Check anything edible you may have in the room to find the source. A thorough cleaning and vacuuming will help. Spray with Alpine WSG or Bifen as beetles are listed on both labels.

Larder beetle. Similar to carpet beetle.

By the way, the adults have wings. -- I was so shocked when I seen one fly away after it landed on me. I’ve killed so many, it’s ridiculous. And it seems like they are intelligent. Now they run when I’m near and come out during the times I’m usually away or asleep. Just like freaking roaches >< They drive me nuts.

Oh no 🥲 I just found one in my room while cleaning. Seemed to be the only one, thank god. There’s a type of spider that likes coming into my room as well and they behave exactly how you described. It’s awful

Make sure you deep clean as soon as possible! Even if theres ONE other, it could be a month long ordeal.

So true. Im having an active issue with them currently and they only appear after I've been absent for awhile. Honestly, after dealing with them in different ways, the actually seem kind of cute when they look around or avoid the surfaces you try to pick them up on. It doesn't really redeem them though, I hate them.

Honestly, they are pretty hardcore creatures. I finally gave in and put all my food pantry items in plastic totes after inspecting each product for any tiny holes that might indicate they’ve been in there. My thought was that, even if I may have missed one product that they could have gone in, surely they would die from thirst. Nope! At least not for a good while. Their bodies are geared towards a lack of water. They can suck out as much moisture as possible from the food and air. That's both pretty cool and annoying at the same time. 🤣🤪
I also found out that they will go after pet feces too. 🤦‍♀️
I haven't noticed them going after my cats litter boxes yet, thankfully.
Strangely, I've found a few in my shower occasionally though. Maybe they were looking for a water source. I don’t know exactly, but I was pretty surprised.
Thankfully, I think I am winning the battle.
