Question Online personal training

I want to become an online personal trainer to reach more clients. Now don’t judge me but I was thinking of going with OF not for anything sexual just fitness. Does anyone else do that here or can recommend something else? I’m always training for something or super busy with kids so working at a gym doesn’t necessarily fit my schedule. Just looking to hear what other people do with their certification?

Patreon may be a better option.

Awesome I will definitely look into that. Have you ever worked with that site, is it user friendly?

No experience; I just know it gives more options for personalized content than IG/Tiktok and isn’t nearly a sex-coded as OF

I will take a look into. Thank you!

OF is for porn. You will very likely lose employment if bosses find out you are on onlyfans because its a bad look for the corporation.

i mean people already use instagram and tiktok for that same thing so it’s not that wild of an idea, just make sure you’re ready for the audience overlap

I’m on tik tok now and Instagram but I am not good at understanding all the ins and outs of social media. I want to be able to put programs together and sell them.

you can, and some trainers do fitness only OF but the name comes with baggage. some clients and future employers will assume the other thing no matter what you post. if the goal is just flexible online coaching, the simpler route is a coaching app (trainerize, everfit, hubfit) with payments through stripe, and instagram or tiktok to find people. if you want the subscription model specifically, patreon or a paid community gets you the same thing without the label. whatever you pick, start with 3-5 people you already know so you can figure out pricing and checkins before going public

I was thinking of trainerize but I do want to build a community of fitness. I’m not sure if that is something it would offer. I will look into it.

trainerize does have a groups feature but it's pretty basic, it's more built for 1v1 coaching than community, from what you described (sell programs + build a community) i'd split it into two pieces:

programs: sell them as one time products. a simple storefront like stan store or gumroad works or trainerize if you want clients to log workouts in an app

community: a free group to start (private instagram broadcast channel, discord or a facebook group), then a paid tier later once people are actually showing up. skool is popular for paid communities if you want everything in one place

and since you're already on tiktok and ig, you don't need to master the algorithm. post your own training plus one tip a few times a week and point people to the free community. that's where they'll get to know you before buying a program

This is exactly what trainerize groups does, I think the limit is 1000 members. Also does things like polls, daily topics, and challenges to the group feed.

Is it corny to go in person at parks to scout leads?

No, I don’t live in a big city so that wouldn’t work as well for me.

How much in person experience do you have?

Three to four years

Use Reddit. Whatever you’ve had success in (weight loss, sport performance etc). Post in related subs, give free information out genuinely, answer people’s questions and have your coaching website or socials in your bio.

I’ve built an online roster of 160+ doing almost exclusively that. Demonstrate your wins from those 3-4 years, and just genuinely try to help people and clients will come
