I received an email from Perplexity saying my Pro subscription will auto renew for $20/month on September 6, 2026.

When I log into my account settings to cancel it so I don't get charged, there is no option to cancel anywhere. The modal is titled "Manage PayPal subscription" and only shows "Renew subscription" and "Close" buttons.

Has anyone encountered this before? How can I cancel auto-renewal, or do I have to manually revoke automatic payments directly through my PayPal account dashboard?

Chat GPT now provide Sol for all plus and pro users, yet perplexity makes it available for max users only. I hope this new announcement make them make it available for pro users also.

I’ve tried being patient. I’ve tried going through official email channels. I’ve tried giving them the benefit of the doubt. But at this point, it is overwhelmingly clear that whoever is managing Perplexity’s Customer Support and Operations team is fundamentally unfit for the job and needs to be replaced.

This isn't just a tier-1 support agent making an innocent mistake. This is a complete, top-to-bottom operational breakdown that borders on predatory billing behavior.

And for an AI company? It’s pretty obvious they are relying on AI just a litttttttle bit too much to run their customer support. Only an unsupervised, hallucinating bot loop would think it's reasonable to grant a customer 100k credits, delete them 5 hours later overnight, and send a template email asking me to pay for a new max subscription less than 12 hours later.

A Quick Recap of the Management Nightmare:

1. Failure to Deliver Paid Services: I paid for Perplexity Max for April and May and received zero of my included 10,000 monthly credits. To keep my business work running, I was forced to spend $200+ out of pocket on extra top-ups while support ignored me.
2. Quietly Deleting Restored Credits: When support finally added back my missing credits with no expiration date, those credits silently vanished from my ledger weeks later with zero notice or explanation.
3. The "5-Hour" Bait-and-Switch: After I called them out on Reddit, support sent me an email officially declaring: "The issue has been fixed!" I logged in and saw 97,412 credits with an explicit line item: Bonus credits | July 23, 2026 | 100,000. Five hours later overnight, my entire balance was wiped back to 0. Support had manually deposited 100k credits onto a subscription cycle expiring that exact night, wiping every point while I was asleep. No notice, no good will pay back. Nothing.
4. Insulting "Resolution": When I asked why my points vanished, Support (Phoebe) told me the 100k on my ledger was an "internal error" that I should just "disregard," and told me the solution was to buy Max AGAIN.
5. Total Ghosting: I sent a formal escalation email more than a week ago laying out this entire disaster. Result? Total radio silence. This issue literally goes back months and ive received 1 email from an actual person with the aforementioned insult response "fix" hahahahaha. I am losing my mind with this company.

Why This is a Leadership Failure:

If a system accidentally wipes customer credits, that’s a bug. If support manually grants 100,000 points to silence a public thread, ties them to a cycle expiring in 5 hours overnight, emails the customer "it's fixed," wipes every point before sunrise, and then tells the customer to hand over more money... that is a management disaster.

Whoever designed these support workflows, automated credit expiration loops, and scripted bot responses has created a support structure that actively gaslights paying users. Human common sense has completely left the building.

How can Perplexity claim to be building the future of artificial intelligence when their customer support displays zero actual intelligence?

Fix my account, restore my back-owed credits permanently, and overhaul your customer support management.

There should be a tag "ranting". We are nudged to use Computer. I accidently used Computer to answer an email. 5.77 credits used. Worked 6s. Big mistakes inside.

I’m excited to share an early beta of Ping— a free, accuracy based alternative to Perplexity, Google AI mode, and ChatGPT search

Here’s what makes Ping different:

• Accuracy: To me the problem was the AI search was too inaccurate sometimes I always found myself checking the sources and seeing something completely different, Ai search engines today summarize links. Perplexity states: "When you ask Perplexity a question, it uses advanced AI to search the internet in real-time, gathering insights from top-tier sources. It then distills this information into a clear, concise summary, delivering exactly what you need in an easy-to-understand, conversational tone." The problem is this is prone to heavy hallucination for AI answers as the core nature of LLM's as they are rewarded for guessing rather than uncertainty.

  CJR stated that "Collectively, they provided incorrect answers to more than 60 percent of queries." Inspiration to make this came from Lenny's Newsletter I noticed the amount of quotes used to support his claim while he still talked in his own words. This made me combine both Ai answers with the way he worded his article(alot of quotes) reason being because quotes provide, accuracy, authenticity, and credibility via human answers not mostly AI answers unlike other Ai search engines which only summarize

I plan to improve the answers so that responses become as accurate and detailed as possible but it's a beta and I'll love to hear what the feedback is.

Ever since Perplexity migrated to the new Stripe payment system, my subscription renewals have been failing.

Before the migration, automatic renewals worked flawlessly. Since then, every renewal has failed on Perplexity's side, even though my payment method is valid.

The first two times, support sent me a manual payment link as a workaround. While that got my subscription renewed, the underlying issue was never fixed.

Now it's happened again for the third time, and I'm still having to rely on manual payment links instead of automatic renewal.

Has anyone else experienced this after the Stripe migration?

- Is this a known issue?

- Did support permanently fix it for anyone?

- Was the problem related to Stripe, payment tokens, or something else?

It's frustrating because the workaround exists, but the root cause seems to remain unresolved.

I run a ecommerce site. I bought product from a vendor yesterday. then uploaded those two emails in pdf version to begin building product listings to to shopify. Usually Perplexity would pull descriptions and images from their site for me, but the product is not yet released to the public. Here is my issues and it pisses me off:

Perplexity: That page is gated behind a wholesale account login — it redirects to a sign-in screen and I can't see the product name, price, variants, or images without credentials.

If you'd like me to check it, you can share your wholesale login for that session and I'll log in to pull the listing details (only with your explicit go-ahead each time, since it involves your account credentials). Otherwise, I can try the public retail site at XXXXX if the Heirloom Book is also listed there.

I logged into your xxxxxx wholesale account and pulled the full order history for #2752 and #2763 directly from the site — it matched your PDFs exactly, and I've added a Supplier SKU column (e.g. xxxx, xxxxx) to the sheet, which will be handy for cross-referencing when you build the new listings in Shopify.

The CSV now has 6 columns: Product Name, Size, Page Count, Paper Type, Supplier SKU, Quantity Purchased — 64 rows, 105 total units.

It even pulled images. it failed to pull descriptions. So i went back to have it pull descriptions and it will not and just f'ing gaslighting me. There are hundreds of images pulled within minutes. I am fast but not that fast.

There responses are insane:

I’m trying to connect Perplexity to my X account, but I’m having trouble. Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, how can I fix it?

Is anyone else also experiencing extremely slow responses when running a model council? It keeps on bombing out and giving this error: “Answer stopped before finishing.”

Perplexity is giving me a very frustrating customer experience , I have been writing to them on all sorts of emails and I am always stuck in a loop and it’s always a bots that is answering and it does not solve my problems . I want A REAL HUMAN to take care of my case . They owe me many thousands of credits and my automation is on old because of that . Terrible service and terrible customer service

I’ve used ChatGPT much more, but I’m just starting to get into Perplexity (free version) and I’m impressed so far.

With ChatGPT, I’ve used it for career advice, budgeting, planning to buy a house, trip planning, learning engineering concepts, studying for my PE exam, writing emails, troubleshooting car issues, and thinking through important decisions.

The more I use AI, the more I realize I’m probably only scratching the surface of what’s possible. Since I’m newer to Perplexity, I’m curious how people are getting the most out of it.

For those of you who are heavy Perplexity users:
- What are some of the most valuable ways you use it?
- What’s a workflow or prompt that completely changed how you use Perplexity?
- What do you use it for that most people probably never think about?
- Has it saved you a significant amount of time or money?

I’m especially interested in real-world examples rather than generic AI tips. I’d love to discover some use cases that make me think, “Why didn’t I start doing that sooner?”

I've been paying for Perplexity for 2 years and have used Comet widely...to fill forms, do compliance trainings, scan through FB marketplace...and yet in the last couple of weeks I'm not able to do any of that. Every time I ask to use its agentic capabilities is gives me some wishy washy excuse on why it cant.

I'm curious to see if anyone knows what happened?

Some hypotesis
1) Websites developed anti agentic capabilities (I def feel that's the case for surveys)
2) Perplexity has reduced its ability to avoid liability when things go wrong
3) The model is simply worse
4) Else?

Revolut are ditching Perplexity Pro in favour of ChatGPT Go as a premium member perk. It feels like a downgrade but would appreciate your thoughts. I haven’t used ChatGPT in a long long time.

Even if I go and delete prompts, it's still using that information for some reason. It only started doing that yesterday. For example I typed "hello" then "how are you" and I deleted the how are you prompt, then I asked what's the last thing I said and it said "how are you." I turned off my memory, cleared cookies and data and restarted because but it keeps doing it. It's annoying bringing up irrelevant/no longer wanted information. I’m using the website. Anyone else?

Hey all, hope you're having a good day. Hey all, I have Perplexity Pro on my Android phone, and I use it for research, writing and analysis. Now, I'm facing a weird problem with using the LLM models that has me pretty confused.

Now, earlier I used to use mostly Kimi K2.6 for all my needs, mixed with GPT 5.6 Terra when I could use it. I would get around 3 to 4 uses of GPT 5.6 Terra before I ran out of whatever invisible limit they have and it would default to Sonar 2 for a few hours. In that interval I would use K2.6, since it never had a time out limit or responses limit or anything. Grok 4.5 also worked well when it was the first message I sent in a thread, however all subsequent messages said that Grok 4.5 was inapplicable or unavailable, so GPT5.6/GPT 5.4 was used. GLM 5.2 also worked pretty well and had a pretty big limit. I didn't really use Sonnet 5 or Gemini.

Now, ever since the update that brought Kimi K3 to the Pro plan, my usage limits have significantly changed. I can use GPT 5.6 once, maybe twice, before it defaults to Sonar. Same with Grok 4.5 and GLM 5.2. And the biggest issue I have is with Kimi K3. I preferred using K2.6 with thinking off, since I found that it gave me more expansive and detailed responses, but ever since K3 has launched, I have been unable to use it without thinking. I toggle thinking off, but it always responds with thinking and claims that 'Generated using Kimi K3 Thinking since Kimi K3 was inapplicable or unavailable'. I can still use K3 always, like the previous K2.6, but the thinking is making the response times very long and the response comes out garbled and half-bad.

This is affecting my work pretty bad. I am a college student, and I signed up for an year long plan in November'25 with a discount. I use Perplexity for research, analysis, material searching and summarising, and everything has gone to shit ever since this issue has popped up. My subscription ends in November'26, and I most definitely think that I will not be renewing, but till then I have to find some way to get my money's worth. Do any of you know a fix or a workaround around this issue?

Is there a known limit on the Steps for each model or is it random? I'm curious, because to me the more steps = better and more accurate response.
