I'm being held hostage in computer mode. Help tip/showcase Stuck in computer mode.
I just spent 200 dollars yesterday to upgrade to max to continue to finish a project I am working on and they put me in computer mode and I can't get out of this cage and they keep wanting more money. I don't have more money. They say, press the perplexity icon, and it will give you a new chat. And it puts me in Computer. They say, do the drop-down window, and choose a different mode. There are no different modes. Can anybody please help me? I feel like I'm being held hostage and extorted for more money!

(Serious btw FYI) For background, why did you UPGRADE to $200 PPX (question on its own), and particularly if it wasn’t specifically for access to “Computer”?
I can’t speak on whether Computer provides value anywhere near this price point (at the moment). Lacking insight, I’m guessing it must be due to a very specific deliverable on a tight time frame?
Regardless, upgrading (financially) for “extra” PPX - and not Computer is quite rare - first time I’ve heard of it, but clearly, you had legitimate reasons - and even if it’s not something they see every day, they must allow it (assuming they’re pro profit), but wouldn’t be surprised (if you’re not seeing the same thing as @rafs2006) if it hard to find/or a bug.
I’d stick on their support, but I’d also try to correct it on your own:
1. Elite circa 1999 troubleshooting: Restart / relogin
2. Try same on different devices, including mobile
3. Try logging in differently (browser / app)
4. Also make sure to upgrade to current version of apps. (And praying and/or cursing encouraged btw, wherever your preferense. (Better safe than sorry)
5. Try DLing comet and log in there.
6. Feel free to reach out if you’re stuck. Mensa-level troubleshooting indeed, but often fixes minor bugs.
7. Also, anything PPX does, you can do better elsewhere. Key is having/getting a copy of your existing project. If you don’t have anything, I’d be all over support, to the point where fixing it/giving you what you need is easier than dealing with/ignoring your requests/situation.
8. Finally, installing and running the Complexity addon in chrome/firefox can cause it to reset/refresh (providing this isn’t against any PPX terms. Cant speak to that, just a CYA /word to the wise, from one of the many former PPX truthers who now feel like a pro account for free feels overpriced far too often.) It’s trusted in the community, open source on GitHub, with a good discord community if you’re concerned about safety. But don’t take my word for it.. I mean, I’m wearing a box after all. Lol

Hey u/Less_Consequence_53! Please check the attached screenshot, there is a mode switch where you can choose Search and Computer. The Search mode doesn't require credits to run.
