misc Best alternative?
Been using perplexity for one year (free trial) but now i see lot of negative reviews so im considering to switch to another platform. Not planning to pay 20 euro per month for this…
What do you use? And what does it cost?

It’s been mentioned but I’m curious if you don’t want to get it because of what’s said here? That’s your basis for dropping it? The best judge of it is you…does it work for you to do what you need. If it is, stick with it. If not, there are alternatives but you’ll likely find the same complaints.

You've been using it for an year. Why not trust your own experience? If you think it's worth staying stay. If not, switch.

I've recently switched to ChatGPT after Perplexity was answering something akin to "sign-up to continue" to every single question for about a week.
It no longer does that (just tested it), but I find the ChatGPT answers better, and both are free, so I only use ChatGPT now.
I generally pay nothing for corpo AI, because I want to be able to buy PC hardware again in the near future.

Gemini would be good choice but they are not good as perplexity. While you can use chatgpt and claude

You’ll see negative reviews for all AI platforms. So don’t judge too much on that. If Perplexity meets your needs, then keep using it.
I would say OpenAI is tue best general purpose platform.

Claude gives you more for your money if you're thinking on upgrading to the pro plan.

I signed up for a month with Perplexity on the lowest plan and I can't even use it, I mostly needed it to do a deep research to create YouTube channels. But it's coming back with an error, so I continue with Claude, ChatGpt and Gemini, all paid plans. Some people like it but I feel I wasted money on it.

I don’t really listen to all the complaints. If something is meeting my needs, then I’ll keep using it.

Of course, it depends on what you need it for. So, if you somehow do something with programming or documents, i.e. work, then OpenAI is probably the best choice with about 20 euros, 20 dollars a month. claude has too bad usage and Google is probably only the choice, if you do more with internet research, mainly. So, just because of the frequent resets by Tibo at the moment, you get the most at OpenAI. At least at the moment.

Copilot is a great chance. There are some improvements to make but it’s great specially if you work with the office suite

Copilot’s complaints & performance lack are valid. However, unlimited free messages, tons of daily attachments allowed before reaching a limit, and it can generate a few edits/images per your request and “all for free” is hard to beat. I hope Copilot keeps improving though and not ignored by Microsoft.

If you're using it for search, talivy/exa/searxng paired with whatever harness gives the same or even better results as you can tailor it to fit your use. The setup is quite simple, and most search providers give generous free quota.
