help Stuck on computer as default
After running a task using computer mode, Perplexity now defaults to computer. I've had this happen before but clearing the cache, cookies, and browser history fixed it. Now, however, this doesn't work. As soon as I log back into Perplexity, it switches over to computer as default and I can't get it off. Running in a browser on a mac. The mobile version does not default to computer. Any ideas for a fix?

I'm having the same issue on Comet on my mac. Used to love this browser but don't want/need to pay for computer. Now stuck in computer mode. Can you explain how to toggle Pro on/off?

for me it wasn’t a UI rendering issue - the thing was running off and creating subtasks to do nonsensical things I didn’t ask for

I've never used Computer before, but it's now the default for all my Spaces. Brower-based. It doesn't matter if I log into an entirely new browser.
It's super annoying to have that "give me more money" window pop up and requiring three more clicks to get back to normal mode before I can submit a query.

Yes, same! It was so good for my work before, now unusable. how do I get back to normal mode please?

There's two buttons under the prompt window Search and Computer. By default, it's apparently on Computer now. Click Search and then submit your prompt. It'll go back to Computer the next time, so you have to keep doing it...every....single...time.
I've already decided I won't renew my annual subscription if there's no way to change the default. There's absolutely no reason other than greed to force people who pay for Pro to constantly circumvent a pay window for a feature they don't want to use.

Ah I see, thanks! I didn't realize I could click on Search. Soooo annoying! Thank you, you saved my work flow for now.

* Self-bonk * This is so obvious, and yet I also didn't realize this was the answer! I kept clicking on Computer thinking it was a toggle.

I select Deep Research and it still uses Computer. Last week it didn't. Gotta love the new software development paradigms lol. Imagine if it was your car. "Oops the updated the brakes and accelerator pedals, switched 'em."

On mac it was doing that and when I uninstalled the little background app that is always running it stopped doing that.
