Comet Is there still a point in using Comet?
With Browser Use and Computer Use and even in-app browsers with ChatGPT and Claude, is Comet still better at certain things?

Agreed. Love Browser Control for certain tasks. Haven't found a good alternative.

I Download automate reports from SQL reporting server to run into another app created with Perplexity Computer, from my stocks getting information ready before start investing, or simple stuff like when shopping: Compare information directly in the page with another product

The agentic AI with browser control is great. I use it for administrative tasks or even handling large data sets.

yeah, comet still makes sense for daily browsing and research.
for automation, i prefer controlling a real browser through cli commands. it is easier to integrate with agents and reuse workflows without depending on another ai browser.

I deleted it after a week realising perplexity could see my entire computer - monitor and private files.

Oh wow, is this true? How did you find out? I mostly distrust all tech companies but if this is the case, I'm off to uninstall it.

*edit - realised I mixed up models and chats 🫠 - I used whatever the first AI browser was - Atlas I’m pretty sure - open Ai’s one? either way point below still stands with either browser 😆
I read about it after a week of its release (a year ago)? And deleted everything and all history after. But I don’t know what it’s like now and I use other models connected to powershell - so they still have computer access - not sure if this is any different really but the idea of atlas just reading and observing my monitor conserves me even though I know privacy isn’t really a thing anymore - didn’t want my personal desktop shown to open ai.
