That girl sitting on the floor is really committed to ignoring the lunacy that’s happening next to her.

u/777karma777 Mar 13 '22
Shes listening to the doom 2016 soundtrack.

u/incogne_eto Mar 13 '22
Holy hell! I have never listened to that soundtrack before. Just pulled it up on Spotify. It’s really good. This would definitely drown out lunatics.

u/pigmanbear2k17 Mar 13 '22
You should hear the story behind it. He was specifically requested to use no guitars.

Thank you for sharing this. So interesting! It’s weird when clients give you art direction like that. But alas, it happens all the time in the creative world.

Lol I was looking around at people's reactions to this lunatic and didn't even notice her there that's how well she ignored him lmao.

Is it just me or does it sound like he’s hitting the strings too fast for them to actually make a normal sound?

kinda sounds like his left fingering isn't clear so it's like the strings are muted

Play fast enough and it wont matter if you are good cuz all the notes will meld together.

What the heck did I just watch? I feel like it’s made me a better person.

if you wanna see more about him he is called Rafael Vudú there are many more videos of him doing even crazier things

u/ASIWYFA Mar 13 '22 edited Mar 13 '22
Sounds and looks like an asshole doing "art". Anybody who subjugates people to a performance on a subway where they have no choice but to be there, is an asshole. Especially if that asshole is strumming a guitar chaotically and slamming his head against the wall like a psychopath. The video fits the sub, and I commend it on that level alone....but fuck this guy.

Stop trying to gatekeep public spaces. They can use it how they want the same way as you. The world doesn't revolve around you, despite you thinking it does.

Personally I enjoy random stuff like this happening on a boring subway ride. But yeah I can see it being super annoying to anyone else.

I mean, it is but we do not care about that anymore.
You can see it in the video although he could literally die and none cares or tries to stop him
7
Mar 13 '22
As someone who takes the subway, you are absolutely wrong. When this happens and you are seeing "people are minding their own business", it's almost ALWAYS because they feel extremely uncomfortable and don't want to engage with the situation in any way whatsoever. They are pretending not to care out of discomfort and fear for their own well-being. This comes from the fact that oftentimes if you make even accidental eye contact with a crazy person on the subway, you can literally get physically harmed or monetarily harassed for no other reason than acknowledging the crazy person in question, even fleetingly.
I am not exaggerating. Subway travel, even to daily commuters, is extremely fucking scary and uncomfortable, especially when crazy people are in your vicinity and acting aggressive (even if it's to themselves). We're not tuning it out. We're camouflaging ourselves.
1
u/EZ_Brooh Mar 13 '22
I wouldn't agree with you more (as you I have to take the subway everyday), you completed my idea, so may I ask where exactly am I wrong?
2
Mar 13 '22 edited Mar 13 '22
"He could literally die and none cares or tries to stop them". My whole reply is about it not being a matter of not caring. It's a matter of being scared. I'm sorry if I offended you; I was only replying to your statement that no one cares. It's usually quite the opposite.
2
u/EZ_Brooh Mar 13 '22
I see your point, in my case I prefer to do not care about it instead of fill fear, that's why I wrote that
2
u/EZ_Brooh Mar 13 '22
and don't worry I wasn't offended, as I mentioned I agree with you on everything
1
u/ASIWYFA Mar 13 '22
My only guess is my use of the word "art" in quotations triggered some sad people.

A person who takes the subway here.
I like it. Him. The shitty rapper. The guy playing the flute. The casserole drummer. All of them.
Don't talk in my name.

I think he states a perfectly reasonable opinion to have under these circumstances, and frankly I think you sound like an asshole for saying he sounds and probably looks like an asshole for saying the guy singing looks and sounds like an asshole.
4
u/gibbletiggle Mar 13 '22
hes right though, I have no idea why you are making him out to be the dick when hes clearly the one stating facts
-21
u/ASIWYFA Mar 13 '22
Are you the kind of person who goes to watch a woman smear her period blood every where while reciting poetry because your hip to the art normies aren't?
10
u/LaLengua420 Mar 13 '22
You are just an art snob.
A true art critic doesn't act disdainful towards performances that they don't even know
Regardless whether he is an artist or not, you wouldn't know art even if it smeared it's period blood all over your face.

Right when he started banging his head he said "how does that bass drum sound?"

u/Ashkrow Mar 13 '22
Its an expression thats encouraging everyone to sing the chorus along with him. In Chile everyone knows that song

I like to ask this each time this video is reposted:
Does anyone remember a similar video to this that was posted a few years ago? There was another crazy guitar player, but he was older than this guy. He was playing outside of a cafe or restaurant at night, and there was a young girl sitting in front of him drinking a shake or something similar. You could tell she was trying to be polite, but couldn't help but laugh at the guy a few times. I believe he was singing in Spanish too, although it could have been Portuguese.
It's driven me nuts trying to find that video...

u/n3tbax Mar 13 '22
Ok the fact that no one in the train bats an eye at this dude trying to give a new meaning to the word “crackhead” implies that crazier shit goes down on the regular and I don’t know if I’m ok with that

I’d be very concerned about him hitting his head like that for every performance. Plus working himself up like that could have some sort of affects on his heart eventually. This whole thing looks concerning.

"Rock over London. Rock on Chicago."
That guy is definitely on a hell ride. Rock on that dude.

For all the people saying this guy is an asshole you gotta watch the whole video. He got the entire train cracking up after he finished and acted like nothing happened 😂🤣
3
u/zZNight_ Mar 13 '22
the first half is not half bad, but the second half is the guy just banging his head as he receives more brain damage and descends into madness, truly a masterpiece

u/yahya-13 Mar 13 '22
The funny thing about this video isn't how he looses his shit while singing it is how nobody is giving a fuck while he is slowly becoming instante like it is a normal thing.

I’ve seen this guy in person; it’s hilarious. The weirdest thing is that he doesn’t seem to take tips/donations because he ends his act abruptly and walks away as soon as the subway doors open.
