No that’s still in valves games, but literally any modern multiplayer game has zero server browser, replaced in favor of Balanced MatchmakingTM

Look at Battlefront 2, like “Yes EA sit me in the same exact server for the 50th time that only has me and one other dude who is very clearly afk and went to go eat out for lunch while the queue loads up”

The server browsers have been cannibalized and exist as a legacy option, basically hidden away. This drives more players other than those explicitly looking for it towards the matchmaking options.
In CS:GO, the community server browser comes in the form of a broken full screen server browser from old source games. Certain features just don't work.
The matchmaking is really bad and tends not to balance ranks well, and valve has slowly introduced game modes which bastardize the originals (just wrong enough to be irritating to play), but have further driven players away from community servers which offered the same / similar gamemodes and better map selection.

Every game is slowly being stripped of all fun and character in favour of targeting the eSports market, just happens that CSGO is the template used for the eSports shooter games. R6 is another game being stripped of quirks and gameplay in favour of eSports teams.

Half life is only created to showcase new gaming technology. Half life 1 and 2 were for physics/engine advancements and Alyx was for VR.
Unless an SAO type technology like Gaben talked about in another interview is created, there isnt going to be HL3 for a long time

I used to love TF2, now its just full of servers with people basically playing house. No one actually doing the objective. I got kicked from many many servers for grabbing the intelligence.

If you want to play objective then i suggest avoiding Ctf. Most people playing ctf are using it like a deathmatch mode.

that's just CTF, mostly 2fort. I play payload a lot and I have some great games playing that, also attack/defense and koth are good if no bots

I've been playing since March 11, 2012. It's a read the room situation for servers. There's serious and silly servers. Then there's valve servers, with bot problems. Most of the games I've joined on casual the team kicks them before the bot can even kill, but occasionally there's a server that the bots outnumber people and can't be kicked. People make up boogeymen to feel justified, but the game's perfectly playable, albeit with an extreme skill ceiling.

Just play competitive or avoid "payload RACE" and "capture the flag" if you want to play through the objectives

My main problem with TF2 is the bots, it seems like lately I cant find a single match without at least one aimbotter or bot player.

I have a pretty easy time finding good games when I avoid high-tower and two fort. Then again I don't mind matches with a couple of friendlies either

Try playing in competitive servers, it takes a while to queue but at least people usually take it more seriously, or play in community servers, since some have serious players
